As we all know, Halo 3 was one of the only games that gave a slower loading time when downloaded to the xbox hard-drive through NXE due to [disc cache-ing]? and without it, it runs extremely loudly and really disrupts play.

So I'm asking, would Halo 3:ODST be able to be downloaded in your opinion?

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

Considering they're allowing ODST to hold ALL maps for Halo 3, it's almost like they're doing it just so that you can remove Halo 3 from your HDD and install Halo 3: ODST.

That, or they just found a way to bump up the price of an expansion to be a full retail game purchase. XD

I think ODST will be HDD compliant seeing as maps are the main things to load and having all 24 on the disc could slow it down.

An alternative is that they have the game disc which you use to play and also a maps disc which has all the maps on it and they get installed so that the game engine, etc can run optimised off of the disc whilst the maps are already on the HDD, making the game more durable as well as decreasing loading times.

Of course I doubt it'd happen as it means you would HAVE to have a HDD.
