Not sure if this has been found.

I thought this would clear up the discussion between the Maps being on the Original Disk or Scratchcards over Xbox Live and it seems that it is neither.

Halo 3: ODST. Standard or Collectors Edition (With Controller) will include a second disk which will include all 24 Maps including the Standard, Heroic, Legendary, Mythic, ODST Map Pack and Cold Storage.

So this is going to be good in a way but bad aswell. If my guess is correct this means that you will insert the second disk. Click on "Heroic" and it will copy to the Hard Drive. Great for Multiple Family Account and Offline Users but bad because people will rent ODST just to get the maps off the second disk and use them on their original copy of Halo 3, unless they only rent Halo 3: ODST and not the second disk.

Quote From Xbox.com
The experience is intense and ever-evolving. Halo 3: ODST also includes three exclusive new Halo 3 multiplayer maps on a 2nd standalone disc. Disc 2 includes all original Halo 3 maps, as well as the Legendary, Heroic, and Mythic Map packs for a total of 24 maps.

How do you know stores will include the second disc as part of the rental?

I don't that will be the mystery. My guess is that they will have to because of Halo 3: ODST multiplayer and forge. If you read carefully it says that it includes the Original Maps on the Disk 2 meaning that Halo 3: ODST might not have any maps to load from 1st boot which will render Multiplayer Useless.

Wouldn't be smart, but we'll see.

I expected it to have 2 disc so you could use the 3 new maps for the first game, it made sense.

Wait...what? I was under the impression that the Halo 3: ODST disc will come with a Multiplayer option IN the Disc itself and the 3 maps will be on a standalone disc.

This makes it seem that the Multiplayer component is on a seperate disc? That's just inconvenience at its best. Like Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST was supposed to be "Stay in the Tray" game for the longest time. If I want to play multiplayer, I don't want to have to change discs!

Also, don't tell me the maps are on the second disc and the multiplayer component is on the main disc. That makes no sense whatsoever.

No you insert the second disk and download the maps from the disk to the Hard Drive. Then use the First Disk to load up Multiplayer. You shouldn't have to go back to the second disks unless you need to redownload the Maps from the disk again.

Buy game, put in disc 2, put maps on hard drive, take disc 2 out, put in disc one, never remove.

Sorry, but the maps DLC maps are on the 2nd disc and the multiplayer is on the 1st. Having maps on a disc to transfer makes a lot of sense, just like this did.

No surprise there's two discs then - the game looks stuffed to the gills with content.

Exactly what he said. and I said above. The only time you will need to reinsert that Disk 2 is when you're Hard Drive gets corrupted and you lose the Maps or when you get a new Xbox with new Hard Drive.

Yeah Disk 1 (The Playable Disk) is that stuffed they can't even fit any of the original maps on the Disk.

It still sucks though. I wonder how much input Bungie had in this and if its was Bungie's decision, then I bet it was because ODST has too much god damned content, which is always a good thing.

I was hoping ODST will be the day I can delete the map packs from my HDD since I still have the crappy default one, and I always seem to need more space. Looks like I was wrong.

Now, I'm just nitpicking but still... I hate myself for doing this.

Yeah, I was hoping the same thing. I have all the Maps on my Hard Drive and then they said the ODST Maps will be downloadable on Hard Drive so I though Okay I can deal with one and now I have to put all the Original Maps on which equal about 4 Times 1 Map Pack.

The maps are on the second disc and the multiplayer compenent is on the main disc. How does that not make sense?

The one time I will actually agree with someone who talks about BluRay.

These are sad times, we live in. Moments of desperation...

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

MS isn't stupid. They cover their financial butts. Either this is somehow inaccurate, or there are measure in place to prevent such things from occurring.

Two 8.5GB DVD's is better than wasting space with one 50GB. And what you're not getting is that there are still achievements for Halo 3 that needs that content. Not having 2 disc means the DLC would have to hit the marketplace and you would be paying more just to get the final achievements for Halo 3.

As someone who has worked there, they usually know nothing until a rep comes in.

you people are stupid moaning about 2 discs because Halo 3 ODST will have 2 discs but you only need to use the SECOND DISC ONCE then you will never need to use it again you will only use the first disc to play Halo 3 ODST and that is completely fine with me

plus what I think about the second disc is that it is like a setup disc on a pc "Insert disc 2" so you have everything you need

besides if there was no second disc you people would probaly complain about it saying that you want a second disc

besides this is a bounus for me because you get 2 discs for the price of one think about it people they are being generous to everyone by giving you a Halo Reach beta that you dont need to buy a limited edition pack to get it
