In the book, the spartans deployed to reach end up splitting up into separate groups to accomplish some different things. I wonder if the game could run the entire inhabited section of the planet at one time. It'd be like GTA except instead of a city where you run around and commit crimes, its a planet surface where you play saboteur to the covenant. It'd be ripe for co-op. And how fun would it be to have an open experience with many different results based the different things you could do.

I felt free roaming seemed to fall sort of what I wanted to describe, because the idea here is that if 7 people want to play co-op and all go in different directions, the entire world is accessible at the same time. Also I feel the important aspect would be that many missions are optional, that if you want to attack the covenant in one way and not another, it changes the outcome in a significant fashion.

Well that's the idea! If we allow it to go out of canon, things get interesting.

IM A LEGIT 16

Free roaming is a good idea...
How could variety be added to the optional missions, though?

To be a man you must have honor...honor and a -blam!-.

Free roaming sounds good, as long as they implement it right. I wouldn't want another Assassin's Creed 1 . (good game, but those missions got sooo repetitive and boring)
