Rev.6-8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

who i believe is this mysterious Sierra 259. the fact that he calls himself Sierra 259 i think is irrellavent. Spartan James is the only Spartan who is truly MIA during this time frame.

Sierra then, my mistake

His number would not be way off like that, It would be between 1 and 150 since there were only 150 Spartans conscripted.

as i said before i think the number he calls himself is irrelevant. what other evidence is there to suggest otherwise that this is not him? someone else in a high chain of comand could have renumbered him.

Well... that's simply not true at all.

  • 06.02.2009 8:50 AM PDT

It's not Irrelevant, because it's his issue number. Why would he use a tag that's not been assigned to him? All Spartans were given a number between 1-150, failed augmented soldiers kept their numbers but were not enlisted.

Wasn't aware that happened in the Reach teaser. Oh, wait....It didn't.

If you look closely, you can see James floating off into space when a guy says, "All units are mobilized and ready." For those of you that don't know, James gets shot on his T-Pack and gets flung into space where he drifts until he dies. This is where master chief escapes into slipspace and randomly comes across halo in halo combat evolved. No master chief in halo reach.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Ekaven is correct, if you look closely you can see a body drifting away from the damaged Frigate. I assume this is a definate nod to the book and an idication as to when this game takes place, though he is indeed the only true MIA Spartan other than John.
He may have survived as Spartans have 90 minutes of air in their suits.

  • 07.13.2009 2:17 PM PDT

HE is sierra 259

spartan 059

  • 07.13.2009 2:18 PM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

No, he is not. 059 and 259 are different!

  • 07.13.2009 2:24 PM PDT

2nd class 059
^2_______59^

  • 07.13.2009 2:26 PM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Yes, but his number is 259. He doesn't say: "This is Sierra 2, 59." he clearly states it without a pause.

  • 07.13.2009 2:27 PM PDT

you don't have to, they replace the zero, with his petty officer 2nd class, it's Malcolm k?

  • 07.13.2009 2:30 PM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

No, it is not Malcolm. You've no concrete evidence to back yourself up other than a Halopedia article with very little information and no suggestion as to who Sierra 259 is. In fact, Sierra 259 is in a completely different section with his own page on Halopedia.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Have you seen the Halo 2 ending?

Sierra is a fireteam name, like Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Zulu, ect.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

As for James... I'm kinda surprised that so many people here automatically think that it's him floating next to the wrecked UNSC ship in the trailer. From what I could tell, there are more bodies than just one floating near that ship, and my guess would be that from the proximity of those bodies to the ship, perhaps they're bodies from the ship.

Now, I can relate to thinking of James when seeing a floating body, as he was lost to space due to a ruptured thruster pack. But the body or bodies floating in space in the trailer is just a very small piece of evidence that might suggest James is there. The fact of the matter remains that the body, or bodies, could be anyone.

Doubt it. He says "you've got Spartans on the ground, sir." meaning that he's on the ground. S-259 is probably a member of Splinter Team Beta. Same with S-320.

Maybe so but its the only possible thing as of yet. I believe its Malcom. I think he may mean SPARTAN II-059 as well. He may be saying this to let them know hes a SPARTAN II if there are any active SPARTAN I's left. And SPARTAN 320 may be SPARTAN III-020. Theyve been active since 2531 which was almost 20 years before the Fall of Reach so this theory is plausible.

If you read First Strike, you'd know it's impossible for it to be Malcolm. Also, if this were the case, that would make the Chief a Spartan-I (Spartan I-017). they're not -IIIs because their numbering is different. Alpha and Beta Companies were totally wiped out except for a few people (whose numbers are not 259 or 320) who are at Onyx. Gamma Company does not recieve its orders to leave Onyx until weeks after Reach falls (around the time Halo 2 begins).
