It is in my opinion that the $60 price for ODST should be protested.

On the Gamestop website, this is what is included in ODST:
- New Campaign Content
- New "Firefight" cooperative multiplayer mode
- Includes Halo 3 multiplayer on a standalone disc, plus all three DLC map packs: Legendary, Heroic, and Mythic.
- Halo Reach Multiplayer Beta Key
==========

Now who here want to pay TWICE for the maps we already own? Legendary, Heroic, and Mythic, I already have paid for these, and by buying ODST...I'm basically giving MSFT more money AGAIN for the same maps I already own?? Where is the logic in this?

I urge all Halo gamers to protest this.

I'm a really nice guy, but when people attack me I have no choice but to attack back. I have no problem with nerds, but I HATE Halo nerds. I can't stand them. Halo is a game, not a way of life nor is it real.

Don't buy it then.

I AGREE!!! LE is $100 and all you get extra is a controller! The only reason the game is $60 is because they know people will pay for the multiplayer beta invite.

  • 06.02.2009 9:45 AM PDT

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

Well if that's the way you feel, then don't buy it.

Yeah, that is disappointing. I thought they said they were going to charge a dicount price since it's more of an expansion.

You'll buy it regardless.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

You would make a thread about this.

If you don't want to pay twice for maps, then don't.

Or, simply, don't think of it that way. You're only paying for what you're getting new--so the non-Mythic 2 maps shouldn't factor into your decision at all -- though you might count the benefit of having them on a disc and being able to free up that space on your hard drive, or the benefit of being able to now use them on a second Xbox without having to recover your Gamertag.

But, it's silly to look at a product, see that you already have some of what that product does, and think that you're paying for something twice. Rather, you're just paying more for all of the new features that you're getting than is someone who is getting the maps anew.

So you then have to ask yourself, are the new campaign, Firefight mode, Reach beta access, and Mythic 2 worth the $60? And that's a question that only you can answer, and only for yourself.

You guys that say don't buy it...have you or have you not bought the three map packs already?

Do you understand that by buying ODST you're paying twice for maps you already own?

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Pay twice for the maps you own?

No, the same maps that have to be programmed twice all over again onto two different games.

Bungie and Microsoft spend a lot of time and money in this game , so why not just pay the price ?

Not only will I NOT protest, but I'm hoping they make a Limited Edition (like Halo 3 Legendary Ed) that i would gladly pay xtra for.

They're not worth $60 bucks. Considering that the campaign is not a full-length typical Halo campaign...and the firefight mode is merely a MODE...and Reach beta access (how can that cost money in the first place?) and then the rest of the Mythic maps..which are 10 bucks at most. This should be a $40 game at the most.

You will be paying for the following: RE: (those of us who already own Heroic, Legendary & Mythic DLC maps)
1) The new "Firefight Mode"
2) Remaining Mythic maps (3)
3) Brand new ODST Halo Campaign
$60 sounds fine to me.

chill out, all you ever do is negativity. if you have till fall to raise $60, by no means a hard task. if you dont want to pay it by principle, then wait till its cheaper. no one is forcing you to buy it at $60.

  • 06.02.2009 9:52 AM PDT

1. Bungie did say they didn't see this as a $60 dollar game, look it up.
2. There's nothing wrong with the $100 price tag, because yes controllers are $40, it just goes with the not paying $60 for an expansion.
3. I will buy it no matter what lol

Did you or your mom buy the maps for you? Also, are you or your mom buying the video game? I'll pay for them again, i don't care. It's only $20 in a time-span of over a year. OH NO

:'(

Add
4) All three DLC Map Packs
5) Halo 3 Multiplayer with stock maps, forge, theater, etc...

$60 bucks sounds like a deal to you? I already own the second disc minus the new mythic maps coming this Sept. Why not make a package that has just ODST and its new features, plus the remaining mythic maps and sell it for half the price? We're paying TWICE for H3 multiplayer guys...comon.

Considering that the campaign is not a full-length typical Halo campaign...

It actually looks like I will play campaign for more than 4 hours.
I think Bungie only put that time restraint on if you just do campaign for the story.
We have all of New Mombassa out there ready to be discovered.
