Not only will I NOT protest, but I'm hoping they make a Limited Edition (like Halo 3 Legendary Ed) that i would gladly pay xtra for.
ODST helmet -blam!- yeah.

Definitely!! My Mark VI helmet needs a new play-pal!!

I'm not even going to get into DanBauer. To me, the new campaign, $10 for the remaining Mythics, and the new Halo-Horde, and anything else in the game is fine by me being $60. I mean, I don't think any of us would mind it being cheaper, but I'm not terribly surprised or disappointed that it's $60.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Well, if what I am hearing is correct. It is basically Halo 3, with different story, and an extra mode called "Fire fight".

Meaning, there is online match making, and everything. If that is true, then I think 60$ is admirable. A good price.

But if it's not, I'll be a little pissed.

And with the 100 buck pricetag, it makes sense. 60$$ controller, 40$$ game.

The game isn't $40 bucks though if you just buy the game...

It's as if MSFT wants people to spend 100 bucks because you're getting a better deal that way rather than spending just 60 and getting no controller. I know this is a business strategy, but it's a pretty weak one, and it's taking advantage of people.
Have you never heard the term "economies of scale"? You always pay less when you buy more. It happens with consumer products, it happens in business-to-business transactions . . . hell, it even happens with a pot dealer! Taking advantage of people? Honestly, I was taking you seriously until just now. I dunno what kinda crap they're teaching you in that hellish desert that is TTU, but I encourage you to sign up for an economics class, pronto.

We're building a better world...all of them, better worlds.

Don't boycott the game. Boycott Microsoft products. You're taking more money from them that way.

from an interview....

"This is definitely a subset of [Halo 3]," (Brian)Jerrard explains. "I think this is going to be a good value and a lot of content but we're not viewing this as sort of a full game release in the sense of Halo 3." When asked about the potential future pricing of the "expansion pack" Jerrard said it was too early to say for sure, but that they were leaning towards something a little more "value-oriented."

Let's see what the next GOW2 disk has to offer. From what i heard, it'll have a bunch of new maps and a chapter of campaign. If that has a 60$$ Price tag, then you'll have something to complain about.

Yup, that's a bad deal too, for those who already BOUGHT the DLC maps for Gow2. For someone like me, who has NOT bought them, it would be a good deal for me.

ODST at 60 bucks is not a good deal for me, I'm better off paying 100 bucks just to get the game for 40...and for some reason, getting another controller that I don't exactly need either.

Why not have three different price deals?

$40, $60, and a $100??

Heck, let's just keep re-buying things we already own...and justify them by saying they added a few new things.

As was the point of my first post here (which you clearly didn't read or understand, not sure which), I don't see myself as paying for things I already own. Those have no value to me, thus they do not factor into my purchase decision.

Or, they have little value to me, like being able to free up hard drive space or being able to play new maps on two Xboxs. I can take my ODST disc to a friend's house, pop it in his Xbox and bam! full access to Halo 3 matchmaking, unimpaired by a lack of maps. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

  • 06.02.2009 10:22 AM PDT

Actually, the LE version is a very good deal. A new 360 wireless controller is $50 alone, and the 3 maps of the Mythic Map Pack Part 2 are worth $10 just like the other map packs. Thats $60...subtract that from $100 and you're paying $40 for just the game, with all its features.

$40 is about how much I expected to pay for ODST....

I'm getting the LE version fo sho.

  • 06.02.2009 10:22 AM PDT

Lets do a math lesson
Halo3: ODST

Full campaign+Forge+Theater+same multiplayer= the same as halo3, only different campaign,,, that should be 60 right there BUT WAIT
Legendary and both parts of Mythic= about $40
PLUS! more achievements= another set of DLC so lets say $10
AND NEW FIREFIGHT lets give that $30

I think we're -blam!-ing too much about $60! It's a damn good price

I hope you've never bought more than one of any kind of sports game series in your life. :-P

  • 06.02.2009 10:23 AM PDT

in my opinion i dont understand whats the big deal, its a stand alone game with its own content and more, also its not like your getting less than a whole game, just because its HALO 3 odst doesnt mean its going to be just a little add on to the the origonal game. 60$ dollars doesnt seem so bad, plus not everyone has bought the new maps. of course if it was a little bit cheaper it would be nice but its not thaat bad.

  • 06.02.2009 10:24 AM PDT

tonight, we're gunna rock civilization.

to be fair bungie probly put more money into making it than just $60

Okay, so for every single person who does not have Halo 3, they'd be pretty happy with this. It will be a Good deal for them.
In fact, for anyone who doesn't have Halo 3, only has one controller, and really would enjoy playing some Halo3 MP or some ODST Firefight, this will be a good deal for them.

As for the people who already own Halo 3, and believe that they're being recharged for stuff that they already own, it is not a good deal for them.

Hmmmmmmm.
I guess the thing to do will have to be "Suck it up"

i bet all of the GOW owners will be saying the exact same things as well.

Cruel world, i tell you. Cruel Cruel World.

I had actually owned ESPN 2K5 hockey for a very long time, rented some of the others, bought NHL 08 by EA because it was a brand new hockey engine compared to their last 10 years of crap they had been putting out. I also do not buy Madden games every year either.

That makes sense. Not that I'm a sports fan at all, but just looking at it from the outside, it's the biggest scam of all in the video game industry.

Also, hockey fan? And you go to TTU? You're paying out-of-state tuition rates, aren't you? :-P

(the following is a complete lie, do not take this serious at all)

Actually the reason the game is $60 is cause Bungie doesn't much like the OP.

Sorry if this hurts your feelings!

What about the people who want the Halo 3 campaign, dmg? They then will have to purchase both Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, essentially purchasing a large portion of this game twice.

I actually looked up that GOW2 All Fronts disc, and it's been removed from distribution. It originally was going to be a retail disc that contained new campaign missions, and ALL the previous DLC maps, plus the new ones.

Here's what IGN had said: If you already have purchased and downloaded the previous map packs and don't want to double up, the new content will be available separately as its own download. It will carry the title Gears of War 2: Dark Corners and have a price of 1600 Microsoft points (US $19.99).

I know that people protested it because they said the same exact thing I'm saying about ODST, it's completely dumb that we're paying TWICE for things we already own.

Give ODST its own retail disc with just ODST campaign, firefight mode, the remaining mythic maps, and then the Reach beta key. Slap on a $29 or $39 price tag and call it a day.

-blam!- protesting, I have to pay 100$ for this game anyways.
