Lurking for years and just now a first post. To think this is what that post is.....
I don't know about the rest of you, but I consider what I am getting out of a game when determining its value to me.
For Halo games, this means quite literally hundreds of hours of enjoyment (and most likely thousands.....). 60$ for a couple hundred hours fun? Hell, thats a deal. I'd buy the Flippin game at 200$, although I wouldn't like it.
60$ is a good value for a game of this caliber, at least for me. I suspect the same is true for the majority of the people here.
It is true that it is the same MP, but that is ok as well. At least to me. The value I have received off of H3 multiplayer is more than enough to make me want to flip some more cash Bungie/MS's way.
In the end, between H3 and COD:MW, I can count the money I have tied up in my xbox, all of my (lesser played) games, my accessories, and even the HD flatpanel I play on in cents per hour.
CENTS PER HOUR..... What kind of amazing value is that? I spend 5$ to rent a 90 minute movie that I may walk away from saying "eh" and don't even think twice about it. I drop 100$ in an afternoon on a paintball field. Or 50+$/hr owning/maintaining/fueling a boat.
I can appreciate people being upset, but assign a reasonable value to the enjoyment you get out of H3 and I don't think any of us would mind chipping bungie 60$ as a tip for "hell of a job". The fact I get new Campaign and a hoard-mode type thing? And an MP beta for reach? Flippin Sweet.
