Halo 3: ODST Forum

Subject: Sniper > Wall?

These forums have the worst staff ever. I've me hundreds of staff on large sites and been one myself dozens of times. And never can I say that I've ever met any other staff members this rude and ignorant.

So, I was talking to a guy at game stop while I was reserving ODST and we were discussing new possibilities.

And we discussed the possibility of a destructible environment. Like Bad Company...but not as lame . :D And we came accross the topic of being able to shoot through walls. Because it only seems logical that a HUGE ASS sniper should easily be able to shoot through a wall...or a tree...or a CONE.

Is this a possibility?

Would be possible, but I don't think it would be fun. Think about you crouching behind a wall to regenerate stamina, and getting sniped through the wall you thought you were safe behind.

Maybe if we get our hands on the Model 99 Special Application Scoped Rifle. We can only imagine how fun that would be. (:

Possible but I don't think it follows what Halo is. We have never been able to shoot through walls so I don't see it happening.

Well, you do have to remember that this isn't Halo 3 anymore. This is a new game. Involves new strategies. It would be so much hard core if you could shoot through walls. I mean, duh the bubble shield is safe. Some walls are safer than others due to thickness.

I know this would call for some amazing montages.

But if all you have to do to kill people is unload into walls how much fun would you have? Imagine you just kill someone and oyu have low shields. You take cover behind a wall, and you die from a sniper on the other side. It almost makes walls pointless.

Beware the smiley face! =D

Nah.

Halo is good because it is Halo, not Call of Duty 4.

Again, it's new strategies. And it isn't halo 3 anymore. It's ODST.

And there would be safe spots. Not like one shot will go through the wall of a cave or from hood to bumper of a warthog.
And it's not like every wall on the game is so thin.

Actuall, it's Halo 3: ODST, so it is still halo.

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to point out. Why would Bungie make the SAME exact thing? You're not some guy in tons of armor that can jump 8 feet. You're a guy with a gun and a helmet.
The game is different.
And I'm only talking about power weapons. Not SMGs, plasmas, pistols, etc. I'm talking about snipers, possibly rockets turrets, etc.
It would totally make campers camp less.

I am Katsu Kage, an assassin trained in the art of stealth. I was on a recon mission when I discovered a blue box hidden among some rubble. Once I entered the blue box it had taken me to a land far away. It was strange and fantastic! There I met PatikaVoom, the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She showed me this land, then returned with me to the blue box. She called it a TARDIS and seemed to know how to work it. We left together and have been on many adventures, with many more to come!

Were it so easy.

It's not Halo enough for my tastes.

Maroon 5 is awesome. Deal with it.

nope, Halo 3 is powered by Havok. The destruction physics can't be added unless the engine gets updated

They act all big and tough when their on camera with their friends and their guns. But when you break into their house in the middle of the night and stick a gun barrel in their face. They cry like babies and and piss their pants.
-U.S. Delta force operator on the Taliban.

They would have to totally rework the game engine for that.
