Think about how long Halo 3's campaign was. 5-8 hours, correct?

Bungie said that with ODST, it would be 3-5 hours, but they were trying to push it to more. How do we know that ODST isn't 5-8 hours? What if Bungie decided to lengthen the flashbacks, or maybe the city of New Mombasa is bigger than we thought, and we can just go around shooting Brutes if we want. And with Firefight, you have enough multiplayer there to satisfy you for a long time, maybe not as much as Halo 3, but it's still great. In Gears of War 2, Horde is the second most-played playlist behind Execution-Warzone and it's about 8 months after release, so Firefight could become as popular as everything else in Halo 3. Then, you can't forget the skulls that you can back and find, and while you may not think it, Meta-Scoring is a great system and it adds a lot of replay to the campaign. And there are also 1000 Gamerpoints to be had in ODST. And then, we get $10 maps exclusively with ODST.

Think of it this way:
$20 for Campaign (includes meta-scoring and skulls, as well as co-op)
$20 for Firefight
$10 for Maps
$5 for Invitation to the 2010 Reach Beta
$5 for earnable Recon.
Total - $60

And you could say that you aren't paying for the Recon, so that would leave it at $55, which isn't much different than $60.

And for the Limited Edition, you are only paying $40 extra dollars. A standard white Wireless 360 controller costs $50. That means the Limited Edition is underpriced.

If you want to try and justify the price more, just say that the special controller is $60, like the Halo 3 Spartan and Covenant controllers, and your ODST is only $40.

While the standard price might be a bit of a reach to say it's justified, the Limited Edition is perfectly priced.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Thank you for disecting everything in spoon-fed amounts for the masses.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

I'll have:
$20 for Campaign (includes meta-scoring and skulls, as well as co-op)
$20 for Firefight
- $10 for Maps
- $5 for Invitation to the 2010 Reach Beta
- $5 for earnable Recon.
Total - $40
I don't need a controller.

I can buy those seperately because they are listed seperately. Right?

Anyways, it's all justified simply because it's a game not vital to anyone.

No, he just broke everything down so you can see why it is priced the way it is.

We're building a better world...all of them, better worlds.

Pretty sure they clocked Halo 3's campaign at 10 to 12 hours, which would put ODST at less than half the length of Halo 3.

Comparing Firefight to how other games have handled survival mode is kind of a double-edged sword. Remember, Valve gave the survival mode for Left 4 Dead away for free and saw massive sales boosts on the game for it.

Wireless controllers are available on Amazon for $40. Yes, they are brand new.

Personally, I think ODST is a $40 value. I'll buy it, but I'm chalking up the $20 differential to Microsoft and will gladly give them the difference. Have fun with the $20 extra, Microsoft. Enjoy your immediate returns. Because I'll be just that much more inclined to give my thousands and thousands of dollars on new computing equipment to your competitors. Oh, and good luck with that whole declining market share thing.

The reasons why i am getting the game and i think it deserves that prize:

1. Bungie is awesome

2. Firefight has a lot of replay value if you have friends to play with

3. Awesome Graphics

4. Halo 3 maps

5. 3-5-8 hours campaign

6. It expands the halo universe

7. You get to play with friends as ODST's in awesome maps

8. You can finally get recon

9. A beta for an upcoming halo game, i would pay up to 30 dollars for that.

10. New weapons, new gameplay and more. . .

Remember that the campaign will be a kind of sandbox, so you can pretty much go where you like. I assume this will mean that there will be side-missions and secondary objectives.

This should add on a fair bit of length to to 3-5 hours which we're taking as a given.

Yeah, who knows, maybe there are survivors that you can try and help or stuff like that. Maybe you need to get survivors items and you fight through Covenant to get them.
