Look at how many final fantasy games have been spit out, I dont think they have even come close to run out of content for Halo. They could do a Halo 2 recon taking place after Halo 1 and before Halo 2. I would also like to play as one of the children becoming a spartan like in the books. A prequel to Halo 1 or even a game focused on the covenant side would be a cool twist.

Halo is Bungie's flagship title, they have no obligation to start something new. There's plenty of other stuff from other devs. And actually they have said many times they aren't done with the Halo universe yet, just the Halo 1-3 series.

So you are not saying that this is getting old to you?

whos to say the game will be anything like halo 3? It could be a squad based tactical shooter similar to Ghost Recon with Spartans for all we know. I personally wouldnt mind seeing Bungie experiment with a whole new formula. If the game played the same as Halo 3, would it even be necessary for another Beta?

No. A game company makes money by making games(obviously). I think it's excellent that Bungie is doing more than expanding Halo 3 with downloadable content. Although it would be nice to see something fresh and new come from Bungie, I think that Reach will turn out to be a great game.

Try telling Square enix that final fantasy is getting old, it's so milked that they started putting disney characters in final fantasy. Halo isn't dead yet nor is it close to. It is a strong game series that sets the bar with every game. HR is going to shatter the standard again if the pattern continues. Look at H3 ODST, its only an expansion and it still looks amazing.

i honestly couldn't be happier, then again these games bring me great amounts of joy. i thought maybe i just like the halo universe, but halo wars was horrible in my opinion. something about the way bungie makes halo games, are just so approachable yet take time and skill to master. i know i sound like i am worshipping them now, but i am just trying to make my point. i got goosebumps from the Reach trailer..... can't wait. i do see your point though, i hope eventually they turn to different characters in a different universe. but for now i am content.

Why did they need a new beta for H3 then? They had already made great multiplayer modes 2 times before. They probably just wanted to make it perfect. Plus fixing bugs.

ROBOHOG IS VERY BRILLIANT AND STUFF.

Who cares if they set it in the world of Halo or in the land of Oz? A good game makes a good game. A bad game makes a bad game. if this is a good game, it will be enjoyable no matter where it's set. If it isn't, it won't. Simple.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

I am very happy that they are doing this. I've always wanted to see more Spartans and a game based on the events of Reach. This better be the end though. I don't want them to milk the Halo title.

I see it this way either Bungie can make a game true to the series or Micro$oft can make one that will suck.

We should know better, because we are better.

We need more Halo! I want to hear more elites say "Wort wort wort"!

There is nothing wrong with continuing to make more Halo games. There will be all new characters and a completely new part of the plot for the game so there is nothing repetitive about it other than the fact that the basic Halo ideas will still be in place. Its one thing to continuously make multiple guitar heroes per year but its a different story with Bungie and Halo.

Its like saying the next line of cars produced by Ford should leave out the color red because lots of cars are already red. There is no point n getting rid of a series if it still has life.

And don't assume that people who want to stick with the Halo series have not played all of the games. I played Halo 1 and 2 when they first came out. Hell, I have replayed them multiple times over the last few years and they still haven't gotten boring

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

No I -blam!- love the Halo story. They could make 20 more Halo games and I would get all of them.

  • 06.02.2009 2:30 PM PDT

I have been playing Halo since Halo: CE and have not got tired of the story, campagin or multiplayer except Halo 2 pc, just could not get the dang thing to work properly...so the more the better.

I think Bungie is doing a great job.
Halo is a massive universe that I, like so many others, would love to experience all event that occurred within it. Fall of Reach is one of the biggest events in the Halo story and I hoped that one day Bungie would make that part of the story into a game.
The books are incredible and breathtaking. Halo: Reach is going to be one hell of a game especially because you are most likely going to experience the rest of the Spartans last moments in battle.

So, no I dont think Bungie is going too far with the Halo games :)

...PLEASE DONT POST IF YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO WORSHIP THE BUNGIE PPL.

Wow. The Bungie people. Pretty... uhh... why are you on Bungie.net anyway? This is the home of the fully grazing species known as "the Bungie people". Maybe you should go back to playing Cops and Robbers in Infection and joining regular voice parties where you get kicked for having a squeaky voice.

About the boringness...

The game will have an expectancy to be boring, but not in the way you said it would be. It might (most likely) will take place exactly before Halo: CE. In this case, We won't see anything too new. A prequel. I have to say this though, as the main point of my post, Bungie needs to make a sequel, I don't care if they make 3 more games (besides Halo: Reach) to tell the story, they could still end it with a final great sequel.

i think releasing ANY info on the game almost a year and a half before its released is just stupidity on their part

Veto for ARs!!!!

There have been 6 Halo games EVER if you count this and ODST. 7 if you count DOA4.

There have been more versions of Mario Party.

actually if you read the book the first strike, then you would see that nothing happened between halo 1 and 2. cheif was just looking for survivors

You blame Bungie of milking a series when they are developing their fourth and fifth games, and yet Final Fantasy is on it's 13th and 14th games. CoD is on it's 6th game. God knows how many Mario games have been made and yet Bungie is the one milking a series?

  • 06.02.2009 4:14 PM PDT

Some of us have been playing Halo from the start and still think it's an extremely fun game series. Also, Bungie isn't really milking it at all, the games are still good, and still fun. It's milking once the game starts getting ridiculous and the quality of the game suffers severely but they still crank out more and more.

And another thing, Bungie never said that Halo 3 was the last Halo game, they said it was the last of the story arc. That means that the story arc concerning the halo rings and Master Chief saving the galaxy from them is over with, but that doesn't mean that the entire halo universe is closed off.

  • 06.02.2009 4:20 PM PDT

This is what true halo fans have been waiting for. They should keep making these games. Hello, COD has mad how many games. Okay, deal with it. Halo is a great game, they can make as many as they like. New game means new maps, new game play, new armor, new weapons, new systems of play, new recording ways, new ways to build maps. With every new game, they can take what we want and add it in. Endless possiblities.

  • 06.02.2009 4:24 PM PDT

The halo games are really good and you have to remeber that the first three were played from one spartan and his perspective the halo universe is giant and there were many spartans so i think its actually a pretty good idea i always wanted to play with a team of spartans instead of going lone wolf with marines that kill themselves by driving off the cliff and odst that will be interesting to see what it was like when the chief was off on the second halo ring.
