To me halo is gold, every game i play is awsome and doesnt get old or stale. Most games arent as fun or are crap quality, their are other games like call of duty, and gears, but either the gameplay gets stale or just starts to suck. who cares if they are in the same universe? it just another great story!

Who cares if the gold looks alike? in a see of crap, gold is still gold!

Long live the Last Refuge!

I don't believe it is getting old since the halo universe is so interesting. The stories that haven't been explored the mystery of the whole universe thats what keeps things interesting. Not to mention solid gameplay and a amazing multi-player. I've been playing halo since Halo 2 and I'm still not tired of it.

I'm excited for this game because it's bungie's first full halo title where they aren't under the constraint of microsoft.

Signatures are for squares.

1. Not everything you read is true, Bungie said ODST was the last part of Halo 3 they were doing. The last game in the trilogy.

2. 7 games in the halo series (Halo 1,2,3,halowars,Reach,ODST,Chronicles) Is not milking the series, if you want to say something is milking the series, look at mario, hes been in 270 games for god sake, noone says he's milking the series. Or Sonic, hes in over 150 games, and hes not milking the series? Or LoZ, Link has been in over 100 games, I guess he's milking the series too. 7 games is NOT milking a series.

3. This is the bungie forums, you have to expect people to worship bungie, I've been playing since 2002, and this game series is still my favorite, I'm thrilled Bunige is making more Halo games.

I also believe there have been over 30-40 titles under the name "Metal Gear"

As adam sandler once said, "i kicked your dads ass in high school now im gona kick yours!!"

I wish i could change my username to my gamertag.

The halo storyline is too big and too unaventured to stop now. Bungie could make a lot more games under the halo title without it getting old, each game adding more information and answering more questions. These next games should be great and should answer loads of questions.

Bungie, I theorize, will continue making Halo Games until they bridge the gap between the Halo and Marathon universes. But who knows when that day will come, if ever.

Flares the nubbies up.

Bungie can make a Halo 7 for all I care, the past 3 have been spectacular in their own way.

So, what do you guys think about this? In my opinion bungie needs to go out and create a new game. Now please before all you guys that come in here and flame me about how "halo is freash" "it never gets old" Please take into concederation the fact that you have not been playing halo since the begining. Now when I heard this announcement at e3 I said wow thats nice we get another new halo! Then i began to think about how boring and old this title is getting. If Bungie does not get off this Milk train soon we will end up getting halo 17 reach rise of the covinant aerosmith. And I know we dont want this to happen. I also remember reading somewhere that bungie said that halo 3 was there last halo game. And hell, Were getting 2 more... So I know this is probably going to get locked and all but before it does i would like to hear your guys say your opinion. PLEASE DONT POST IF YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO WORSHIP THE BUNGIE PPL.

A while back when Halo 3: ODST was first announced I believe Bungie said they were working on 3 projects (1 being ODST). We now know the other to be Halo Reach. But what about the 3rd? I really wouldn't be too worried is all I'm trying to say.

  • 06.02.2009 4:54 PM PDT

Don't argue with me, we can settle this in a duel.

Bungie said that to Please Microsoft. Since Micro$soft wants the Money and know the Halo fanbase is huge, Bungie made these games. As long as there is support.

Bungie will never be able to step out of the shadow of Halo. That's like Kojima stepping out of the shadow of Metal Gear or Miyamoto out of the shadow of Mario and Zelda.

I would say, do whatever you want to, but then, will it be great? There are always extraneous factors which alter a game's direction and a studio's development.

Bungie can't make a bad game. I'm all for more Halo, as long it's a story Bungie wants to tell and a game Bungie wants to make.

If those two aren't satisfied, I fear for the franchise. Moneysoft still owns the Halo license--Bungie does their best to keep the franchise within their own field of play.

Halo 3 is for noobs. Gg NoRe.

It's just going to be like Halo 3. Sad really. It's going to have more of that stupid crap that attracts young kids, it's going to have more games like Zombies, and its going to have "New Armor".

I'm glad because now I won't have to go buy Halo the day it comes out as I did with CE, 2, and 3.

I'm not buying ODST, or Reach. Why? Halo 2 was the border between fans, and mainstream. Now every game is made for the average 10 year old. The skill gap becomes less, the storyline less, customization MORE.

It's like playing Runescape Halo. Seriously. I'd rather spend 500$ on a Halo:CE remade. I bought and Xbox, and an Xbox 360 just for the Halo Franchise. Not anymore.

I've been playing Halo since I was 12 years old... And now eight years later, I'm kind of bored with it all.

Bungie isn't milking the series. In my opinion, milking would be defined as:
Continuing something that originally had success, but has since failed.

Bungie is not milking because the Halo series is the greatest videogame series of all time. Period.

Legend of Zelda would have something to say to that.

Mario though...Mario is being "Milked"

  • 06.02.2009 5:20 PM PDT

But really.

I've played all 3 Halo games. I religiously play Halo CE on the PC and Halo 3 (though my Xbox has been dead for some time).

I thoroughly welcome a new Halo game. Even if it is the same as the first three Halos. What I do want, however, is for Bungie to come up with a way to freshen things up and speed gameplay. I'm sure they will figure it out.

But I love the story, love the series and am ready to fall in love again.

  • 06.02.2009 5:22 PM PDT

I don't believe that Bungie can really be milking the Halo franchise at this point. I think a franchise starts being milked when developers keep making games after the point where there's nothing left to explore. The Halo universe is so vast and the story is so rich that there's still tons of content that could be turned into an original game. I wouldn't mind if Bungie started a fresh IP (which they may already be doing with that 3rd project that has been previously mentioned) but there's no reason to move away from Halo, not yet anyway.

I'm excited yet nervous about it. Currently I am burnt out of Halo. I love the universe and I am so glad they are making a game around reach but I am looking for something new. If it is just rebirth of halo I will probably be disappointed. I would love a concentration on story and characters with a new tempo in gameplay. I enjoyed what they did in halo wars using blur cutscenes. I would like that but deeper. I know it is currently primarily a multiplayer game but now they are tredding into the fan fiction and it is not just something you can throw together. I will be buying this regardless, but i am hoping for something more.

  • 06.02.2009 5:26 PM PDT

DERP.

I think not.
as long as people are going to buy the series, microsoft will allow them to make more.

I for one, am super excited about ODST and Reach. They are exploring the series' storyline more, which is great! But i was thinking...
Reach MULTIPLAYER DEMO coming with ODST? makes me think of the ol' cancelled halo MMO project...

I don't think Bungie is going to run into this problem. Their releases are seemingly 2+ years apart for all their games, so it's not like they are flooding the market. The only 2 close releases are the ODST(which is an add on the way it looks to me.....) and Reach.

If they started pumping out a new Halo every year like Guitar hero/ call of duty, yes, people will get sick and tired of it.

fixed

I have mixed feelings as well. I was really excited for a completely new and fresh idea from Bungie, because we haven't really seen anything other than Halo from them. So in that respect I was disappointed.

On the other hand, they do make some great Halo games. So I'm not really sure how to feel.
