Most the people here have been playing the Halo franchise since he beginning. Halo: Combat Evolved was the first Xbox game i had ever played. it filled the question as to why the Xbox is better than the play station. Followed by Halo 2, i was in complete comfort with my Xbox. upon the release of Halo 3, i had been the happiest with a game console i had ever been.

Halo wars wasn't my cup of tea. not into RTS.

and now Halo 3: ODST and Reach are coming out... you should be thankful that the game that made Xbox what it is is still actually making money and new games. so if you think that the Xbox would be bettter without the best selling game on the planet, you can go -blam!- yourself.

Please take into concederation the fact that you have not been playing halo since the begining.

Please take into consideration the fact that some of us hardcore fans have been playing from the beginning and know how to spell.

QFT!

I've been a hardcore Halo fan since the days of Halo CE, back when the Xbox shipped with those enormous controllers (you remember those, right?) and I really am excited for another Halo FPS. Halo: Reach is going to have a Beta, which means it's gonna be a whole new experience with new weapons, new vehicles, new everything. Each new Halo game offers a great new experience, and it's here to stay.

halo reach will be the 6th game under the halo title. are u complaining about there being a CoD 6? altho, i do c where ur commin from, as they share the same plot (bar Halo Wars) but i dont think that Bungie are going to far. i have just started playing the halo franchise, so u may not consider my point valid, but there are lots of ppl like me hoo have just started playing with the release of halo 3, and they, like me, are happy to see new games such as ODST and Reach. I think that they will be fun and enjoyable, and it will be good to see what else happens in the story.

and yes....halo 17 reach rise of the covinant aerosmith would be -blam!-

I think halo is a phenomenal game and the gameplay is outstanding. If they simply transferred this beloved gameplay to a different series or game then there would be an outcry (most likely from you and people like you) that bungie is making halo under a new guise.

You claim

But I have indeed played halo since it was released, I returned my christmas gifts in 2001 to buy an Xbox and Halo bc they were too good not to have. Bungie said that Halo 3 was the last game and Halo 3: ODST is simply a continuation of that game.

As far as Halo reach goes - perhaps bungie spoke to soon in stating they were not going to make any more Halo games, or perhaps they meant they weren't going to continue Master Chief's story any further.

But I will take a Halo 17 or a Halo 31 bc I will continue playing halo until another game can match the multiplayer experience that keeps me playing halo.

Bungie isnt stupid they wouldn't give up millions... would you? the multiplayer is unique. what i mean by that is that it makes use of the Z-axis. Ex gears of war theres no jumping so the Z-axis isnt really utilized, same with cod you cant jump very high and if you do you cant really shoot.

Then don't buy it. I HAVE been playing Halo since the 1st one came out. So yes, Its my favorite game and I will buy every single one they make. If the community doesnt want it, they would have not been complaining about the end of the Halo series or what not.

So you are not saying that this is getting old to you?
obviously

Α✝Ω

you have a really good point on this bungie should expand there horizans to some new stories but im gonna enjoy these games.

  • 06.08.2009 2:26 PM PDT

If bungie didn't make microsoft would find someone else that would " and we all know how quake 4 turned out". I just hope they don't go to fast like tony hawk & guitar hero do. I don't want to buy all the dlc if a new game comes out every year.

  • 06.08.2009 2:31 PM PDT

I totally agree i was just thinking that.

KEEP IT CLEAN

The Halo Universe that was created by Halo's fanbase is one of the best places to tell any story. It's like Star Wars. Sure there's the original 6 movies, but there are also hundreds of books about the Star Wars Universe. One of the best things Bungie could do is to take feedback from the community (literally taking the story from a fan-made novel) and making it into a 5 star game that brings in billions of dollars.

What's wrong with Halo?

Riverside23: For all the women of the group, if you've got a real man at least let him have his big piece of chicken.

WhtButterflyLiz: lol. Bring home bigger chikkinz, then, real man!!!

DEATHPIMP72: *throws pterodactyl on table*
Suck it JoeSki!!!

There are several reasons that Halo: Reach is a smart direction for Bungie.

1) Cash cow. Being independent means you don't have a parent company (in this case, Microsoft) supporting you financially. The Halo series is a cash cow, and you can keep going back to the well for financial support. If Reach banks it pretty solid, then they will have the resources to go out and try something new. If the new project fails, they will have resources to dall back on.

2) Reach is fairly unexplored territory. I know there's a book (and yes, I've read it), but a large proportion of people that play Halo have not. Reach is an opportunity to go back and explore a story that a lot of people have not heard about.

3) Multiple Spartans in shooter. Need I say more?

oO( Underdogg13 )Oo

They said Halo 3 was the last in the TRILOGY, not the last in games. We know the Halo story from beginning to end already.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Mega Man has released around 30 games, and it STILL doesn't get old.

I have been playing since the first and i do agree but I do want more Halos

  • 06.08.2009 3:51 PM PDT

I dont think they went far with the game.. to tell you the truth when i first played halo, it was the story that got me more into loving halo.. but the gameplay was ahead of its time.. i like the fact that their making more halo games, because they can add more things to the series.. more weapons, vehicles, enemies, maps, etc. But at the end of they day, if you dont like the concept of another halo game, then you dont have to buy and play it.

  • 06.08.2009 3:55 PM PDT

I have lost all hope in Halo Reach! A game that could have been good was ruined with slower kill times and run speed and a checklist of gimicks used to entice a new audiance and push away the older fans of the series.
Long live Halo Ce and Halo 2 the only good games in the series.

Ive been playing since halo: ce and am surpisingly not bored and cant wait for more. Bungie if i remember right did say at one point around the time odst was annouced that they had a team working on a new non halo game but you probably wont hear much about it for a few years because is probably still in its planning stages, remember halo ce originally was planned as an rts and turned into a fps.

"The strength of the pack is the wolf, the strength of the wolf is the pack."

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me..."

ODST for life

I am not going to lie...I am a super massive Halo fan boy...that being said I am a little disappointed with Bungie making another FPS game based in the Halo universe.

Don't get me wrong I am super stoked to play through the storyline of Reach but I was really hoping for something other then a FPS. Sure the FPS genre is my favorite game genre to play but its time to do something new with the franchise. I really enjoyed Halo Wars despite all of the things I hated about it. It was something new and fresh to the universe and I still play it on occasion just for the sake of changing things up a bit. I thought Bungie was going to try their hand at maybe a third person shooter or maybe even an RPG/MMO game but it looks like its just another Halo game in a different place.

I love the guys at Bungie and I really hope they can do some different things with Reach to make it a new and unique experience for all of us loyal fans out here. Ill wait to pass final judgment once I play the game, till then Ill just hope and pray.
