Wait, did you just say "halo reach 17 reach rise of the covinant aerosmith"? That game sounds awesome, I can't wait!!!!!!!

I am thrilled for more halos, each has its own feel, but it would be nice to have a variety of games on my shelf. For instance their game Oni, I had a great time playing that game but sadly it is for an older version of mac and for ps2, Message to Bungie: New Oni Reloaded Plzzzzzz, you now its a good idea This would be a nice case design lol

Please take into concederation the fact that you have not been playing halo since the begining.

Firstly I was unaware of your ability to know when I began to play Halo and I also fail to grasp how this could significantly change your opinion of the matter. But anyway, I have been playing since the beginning.

Secondly, I get annoyed by people who say things like this. And it happens all the time on Bungie.net. The fact of the matter is Bungie could make another 10 Halo games and I would not be that bothered as long as the games are of great and of good quality. So far, to me at least, the evidence points to the fact that Bungie's Halo games tend to be pretty darn good. So it's safe to assume that they would continue to be good.

So as long as Halo Reach is a good game, why worry? There have been over a hundred Mario games and they still entertain. Quite a few Zelda games and yet they are still going strong. I just don't understand why people get upset when they don't create a brand new franchise.

Bungie will only have gone too far when we get Super Halo Kart, Halo Golf, Halo Tennis, Dr. Master Chief, Paper Halo, and multiple remakes of Halo 1.

Oh man I want Super Halo Cart! That would be sweet ;)

ODST and reach give a fresh new look and taste to the halo universe. the game and novels present so many opportunities for different stories to be told and they are finally embracing that with these new games. it would almost be a waste for this immence world to go to waste with just the three games. i mean if u have read the novels u cant help but think how cool it would be to play as these ppl.

"Please take into concederation the fact that you have not been playing halo since the begining."

I have been playing Halo since it first came out. I even recall seeing it when it was going to be a RTS game on mac, and wishing I had a mac to play it. And with my nine years of knowledge and experience I can safely say that I relish the fact that two new games are coming out.

So next time think before you make such idiotic assumptions.

add a horn that says "!%*@ BILL O' REILLY" in Austin Powers' voice, and
I like how if anyone ever says a nice thing about Bungie people think all they want is Recon, and if someone says something bad about Bungie people join with them. And then after they get done bagging on Bungie, they go play the game that Bungie made

It's not the game that makes it good. It's the effort. A series is only as good as its maker. If bungie made a different shooter, it wouldn't change their skill in programming or their ability to make a fun game. It's foolish to say that a new IP would change the quality of the game.

No they haven't, in my opinion they should keep making more Halo games. Anyone who read the books would know that there is so much more they could give us. I hope we see a game involving the Spartan III's in the future and the Halo 3 Legendary ending hasn't been explained.

  • 06.09.2009 9:45 AM PDT

Not even close. This game comes out in 2010, and it will be the 4th main series game. So that makes it 5th overall, 6th if you want to count ODST. The first Halo came out in 2001. So that's 6 games spread out over 10 years. That's not much at all. Next year Call of Duty will have 10 games, spread out over 7 years. You be the judge.

  • 06.09.2009 12:22 PM PDT

I think it's the simple matter there are thousands of fans who want more high quality games set in the Halo Universe and Bungie and possibly other developers are delivering them. It's a win win situation.

If there is any power to be found, it's within yourself, not your weapon.

As I have been saying all along, Microsoft obviously pressured Bungie to keep making more Halo games. Bungie is done with Halo, but when the boss orders you to make another Halo, guess what? No, give him the finger and do what you want to do is not the correct answer...at least, not if you want to keep your job.

Thankfully, we can be certain Halo 4, whenever it does appear, will be a little different. The new chapter in the story, so why don't they just make Halo 4? Well, for one, MS is making it, not Bungie (MS took a lot of Bungie's employees; keep the prized cow in your own barn, you know?). Also...it would be a major waste to release Halo 4 on the 360. You want to kick off your next console with a bang, you make Halo 4 a launch title. That's good business.

But hey, the next Xbox is a long ways off, so you gotta pass the time, and you don't want your flagship franchise to lose its footing to competition, so what do you do? Release more Halos! How? Prequels! Funny how Reach was announced shortly after MS announced they planned a 10 years cycle for the 360, no?

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

here is what i think.... there is alot more for halo.. it hasent died yet so bungie is going to use it the best they can.. and once yeah there isent any more to make then they will move on...

but the halo games are my favorite and i don't want them to just die...and if things are done right they can always make new halo games... ones thar baised in the future of halo..

and others baised around when the forrunners were running around.. the halo univerese is perfect for makeing new games.. sence bungie made it up they can do what ever they want with it..

  • 06.09.2009 12:38 PM PDT

meh, ive been loving the halo games since Combat evolved. and making a new halo may be a good idea may not.
Like i still love playing halo 3, its great and im sure it will continue to be great for a logn time.
And i will continue to support the halo games because they r good and they r probbably the only games i get really excieted for, just if the screw this one up, or it being not as good as halo 3, they should defanently stop because 1 crap game would ruin the whole franchise, my oppinion dont stray too far off the last three ad it should be worth the money.

  • 06.09.2009 1:22 PM PDT

Yes, really

well, final fantasy is like the best selling series. ever. and they have like 946 games now i believe? so no, i dont think they went too far.

and besides, theres so much unanswered stuff in the halo universe, and people want to play their games, so why not?

You know more questions will be asked then answered, right? This is Bungie.

People Die..But Spartans Live Forever!

Delta Squad X

Dude...hell no. Halo is the greatest game/universe ever made. They can honestly make 20 games based on halo without ever crossing into the other games. Every game will bring something new to the story. I will buy, play, and keep every halo game that comes out. In 15 years these halo games will be classics and will no longer be able to be bought. I love the Halo Universe, i can play every Halo game over and over. I hope we get 10 more halo games. And hopefully even more.

Thankfully, there are hundreds of game developers and you do not have to play exclusively Bungie games. But I know, when it comes to an FPS, Bungie does it right and that is what I am going for when I want to play such a game. Fighters? Capcom. RPG's? Blizzard. Plenty of other games out there.

The only thing that is upsetting to me is that this will likely be a prequel, and so is ODST.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

I have been playing this game since the beginning, and it truly is "fresh" as you call it. Ten years into the franchise and it is still pulling strong. Halo isn't just a trilogy anymore. It's the household "classic" for XBOX owners. Nintendo has Mario, Playstation has Final Fantasy, and Microsoft has Halo. It's the kind of franchise that shouldn't end, because it's fictional universe has a lot of untold stories that would make great games. When they start thinking about Halo Soccer Party, then the franchise will have run its course.

Besides, Bungie is already working on a new IP anyway. We just have to be patient.

Bungie isn't milking the series. In my opinion, milking would be defined as:
Continuing something that originally had success, but has since failed.

yeah like final fantasy lol

BANG! BANG! you're dead

Bungie has an original I.P in the works but have also said that they will stay with the Halo franchise for some time. Don't get pissy, I'm sure Bungie is smart enough to vary the gameplay; they're doin it a bit w/ ODST, lets hope they do it w/ Reach.
