I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.
EDIT: It appears that Multiplayer functionality was reiterated in today's Halo 3: ODST IGN interview, so that answers my question. Thank you to those who took the time to respond.
There is something that has been bothering me about the information about Halo 3: ODST, and that's what we've been told about Multiplayer. Especially after having just watched the Halo 3: ODST "press conference", I'm even more dumbfounded as to whether or not there will actually be Halo 3 Multiplayer functionality via one of the two ODST discs, or if we will have to swap out our disc back to Halo 3 in order to play.
Every time people ask about multiplayer, it seems that the common answer is that Halo 3 will not change it. However, that doesn't mean that it will include it. The only factual statements regarding Multiplayer have been about the maps that are included on the second disc, the fact that no new Multiplayer elements will come with the game, and the general public has taken this to assume that the game will have the functionality to access Halo 3's Matchmaking/Custom Games/Forge functions, etc.
Especially after seeing ODST's main menu (though possibly not all-encompassing since it is most likely an E3 build), and Joe Staten referring to all of the shown features (Campaign, Firefight, Theater, and Extras) as the core makeup of ODSTs menu, I'm starting to think that Multiplayer might not function through ODST.
Can anyone remember a time where this was directly addressed by an MS or Bungie employee?
