Well I guess I better put some pants on.

I feel like I'm gonna break this thing!

It's really all in the title.

You've made these extra maps, they may be a bit small for some game types, but why not put them in matchmaking anyway?

Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you're a twat.

they wouldn't be compatible with halo 3.. i guess they could make them DLC for halo 3 but then they would lose a reason for people to buy ODST

(Bungie > 343i)

Because it is part of the campaign.

The Firefight maps would mean even more DLC for Halo 3. But worse, these maps are designed for Firefight, not standard MP.
On top of that, these maps would have to be designed for Forge as well.

And the Firefight maps cannot be forged, so chances are, they're not created for it.

Why would they have to be?
Personally I wouldn't mind not being able to forge on some maps, but then again, there are probably people out there who would be angry because they're given extra maps without all the features...

"Bungie controls everything. You have no rights. Play nice."

For the last time its TURRETS not TORRENTS. A TORRENT is either a peer to peer file sharing protocol or a violently fast stream of water. A TURRET is a self-contained weapons platform housing guns and capable of rotation. And TURRENT isn't even a word.

If firefight is anything like Marathon 2's survival mode, there really is nothing worth forging. The only forge worthy thing I could think of would be altering enemy spawn points so that they come from specific areas. And it could really screw up gameplay if you started messing with those kinds of spawn points.

I'm glad you thought of the general public (and not just yourself like most people do.)
But yes, the maps are designed for Firefight only. If the Firefight maps were to be available for matchmaking, than Forge would have to be enabled.
And a lot of people would also probably complain about how you can't use the standard matchmaking maps for Firefight.

I thought Firefight maps were just big old campaign areas segmented and made into Firefight arenas? That is what I got from the Firefight demonstrations.

The only map we saw was from campaign.
That does not necessarily mean that the maps only come from the campaign experience of ODST.
