So, do you think we will see any of the faces of the ODST squad in H3:ODST?

Are Bungie going to pull another Master chief with the rookie keeping his helmet on and every instance of him being bare faced the camera angle just so happens to hide his features?

On Waypoint I'm rocketFox;

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

The squad.

I think they might just keep the Rookie face hidden though, as it allows us as the player to easily adopt his role. Just like with the MC. But who knows....

I agree with flamedude, we don't need to give the character we are playing as a face.

Using the description of Chief in Halo: The Flood, you could draw his face.

That's down to interpretation.

What some halo fans fail to realize is that there is a purpose behind the anonymity of the main characters....

Hint: first person perspective

Everyone's a pacifist between wars. It's like being a vegetarian between meals.

Most FPS games have faceless protagonists, mainly because it helps with the immersion factor. I think not giving the Rookie a real name was also smart; even though I loved Halos 1-3, I found it difficult to connect with MC as he seemed like an established character, whereas the Rookie doesn't have much to say. Imo that helps immerse the player even more. It's all just theory, though, by the time the game comes out the Rookie could possibly have a plethora of dialogue and my whole point becomes moot.

I used to need achievements, but then I joined the Spartan I Project.

Basically, they're gonna pull a Gordon Freeman with The Rookie.

i think the rookie could as well as being a point of view from inside the game as to us who are rookies fighting the covenant with out shields and the super jump and quickness of a spartan

I understand why we cant see the Rookie's face, but I REALLY want to see Dare's face. She has an awesome body, sexy name and Recon! (Even if its too big for her head)
