Ok, so the standard H3 multiplayer is on ODST disc 2, which contains every Halo 3 map ever. But, how does that work with the standard Halo 3 disc. Can you also download the new maps (Halo 2 MMP disc style) from the ODST disc, so that the Halo 3 disc recognises them, or do you have to get them separately from XBL?

If I'm not mistaken, but all of the maps, from Halo 3 and the DLC will be on it, thus you make the H3 disc obsolete.

Thus essentially the Halo 3 multiplayer is just that disc, nothing else.

There is no multiplayer disc. Multiplayer is on ODST's disc, just like normal Halo 3. The only difference is that ODST's Campaign replaces Halo 3's.

The maps will come on a code in the box. You can put the code into the "redeem code" box on the 360 Dashboard and download them from Xbox LIVE.

Nope. The multiplayer disc contains the entire Halo 3 Multiplayer experience. Every feature and every map. You don't have to download a thing.

Where have you been? Really? Everyone knows that the multiplayer is on a 2nd disk. There is no Matchmaking, Forge, or Custom Games on the main disc, just the second one.

No, the MP comes on a second disc, that has been confirmed by Joe Staten, and is written on the back of the ODST box. If you're like me, and you have a perfectly good Halo 3 disc, I would much prefer to DL the maps to my xbox, and use that disc for multiplayer. That way, If I want to play some Halo 3 campaign, I don't have to swap discs.

But what if you want to use your old Halo 3 disc. Can you download those new maps, from the disc, to your hard drive in map pack form, to be used on the standard Halo 3 disc?
