Were it so easy.

It will be $60 weather you like it or not. Yes I think it should have been $20 cheaper however it isn't. "Protesting against it" won't chande a dammmn thing.

Besides, it will be totally worth it. ODST looks better than Halo 3 in general.

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

You are completely wrong. Epic reduced GOW addon's price by 25% because of community outcry. Companies react to consumer feedback, if there is enough. GOW Is published by Microsoft, by the way, the same people publishing ODST.

Well, that about covers it.

I don't mind the $60 price tag, but I was bummed a bit when I first heard the news. Hopefully FireFight will make up for it. Maybe there's more with the "Extras" tab in the menu. We'll see.

???

to tell you the truth, i was actually happy when I found out it was 60$. That's pretty much proof that it's not just gonna be a couple more campaign missions and a few maps. ODST is gonna be completely new, while still retaining the "style" of Halo 3. it's gonna blow minds

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

It's not being cheap, it's realizing that MS is, yet again, being greedy with their prices. Honestly, I don't think $60 is worth a 5 hour campaign, 3 new maps, and a multiplayer mode. Especially considering for that same price, we got 2x the campaign, 3x the maps, and an entire multiplayer experience, with tons of game modes.

Direct de Montréal,Québec!!

I will buy the collectors edition that comes with the ODST controller.

you could call it a regular game. it has a campaign, multiplayer, lots of other features, dlc, achievements, and it also comes with EVERY possible map (the 11 shiped maps from halo3, cold storage, heroic map pack, legendary map pack and mythic map pack 1 AND 1. so i think it should stand at $60 (£30-£40)

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Not the point.

Bungie declared that it would ship for less than $60.

$60 is a huge chunk of cash right now...

Or it is for me at least...

  • 06.02.2009 5:53 PM PDT

If you want t get technical, it is cheaper than the original game.

Your dollar is worth less than 90% of what it was worth when Halo 3 came out. Hell, your dollar is 93% of what it was January.

Edit: Also, anyone who ever believed that this was going to ship for less than $60 was delusional.

I am the hand of fate!

I'll bash it all I want. The game is not, too me, worth $60. So, until it is released, I will criticize it. That is my right, unless Bungie tells me and the community to stop.

Amen.
Admittedly, this game is looking a little better than I first anticipated. Regardless, it looks like nothing more than a fabulous rental or buy-and-return.

The only way this game becomes cost effective is if you never bought Legendary or Mythic.
