Okay, so a lot of you will probably disagree with this. Because it is true that the events of the Fall of Reach happened before any Halo game was made. BUT, lets not forget that Master Chief's half of The Dawn was going through the portal to get back to earth as it was collapsing. This arose many ideas that Chief's half of the ship could have traveled back in time. Which brings me to the question, why on earth is there a broken half of a ship floating towards a planet? (Halo 3 ending)...and from what I have seen no one has mentioned that in this forum?

I hate you so much...

But not as much as I hate the internet.

I wonder if bungie is giving out recon for the 777th post about this idea...

Half of a floating ship with MC on board =/= Time Travel.

I don't think bending space and time is that simple...

The slater that has started will cost countless lives.
The slater that has started will create untold story's.
The slater that has started will not end with a bang.
The slater that has started will end with a unheard whimper

If the halo3 chief ended up on reach during or before the battle there are high risks of a time-paradox being created

There are no facts either way. Did Bungie write the books? No. Eric Nylund did. The books were a mere adaptation. This does not mean that a game will be based 100% off of a book. Bungie approved that the book went by the Halo bible, but this doesn't mean they can't add a aspect or two. So give me 100% fact from Bungie that it is not Chief's half of the Forward Unto Dawn and I'll shut up. Until then everything must be considered.

xboxgamer master chief's ship collapsed as they were going through it. Hence he could be somewhere else other than near the Ark, on odd circumstances he could've even traveled through time.

arm yourselves with knowledge.

"It is done. By my hands. The pyrrhic solution is ignited. All I have left is the quiet of space to lull me to sleep.
I will dream of you." - The Didact

ok enough about time travel. . .that would make a really lame story. . .besides, there are far too many paradoxes to even list that would totally screw everything up in the end to make a viable story line. Face it, Master Chief probably won't be in the game because he never partook in any battles on reach. . .only the Spartan Red Team and perhaps others whom we have not been told about. Reach is not a forerunner installation. . .there are no glyphs on it. . .the planetoid at the end of H3 has the sword and shield glyph. . .pay attention

2 different planets 2 different star systems. . .

hello i am nobel six lololololololol

"The enemy came. He was beaten. I am tired. Goodnight."

"I think Reach is a pretty cool guy. eh drives froklifts and doesn't afraid of anything."

Seems possible, it was the first thing I thought when I watched the trailer, but... I'm going to have to say no, because that would be nuking the fridge. Halo 3 should be the end of the series, with everything else Halo afterwards being an expansion of established canon.

but if the portal collapsed before he went through it, why would he be teleported ANYWHERE? Wouldn't he just stak near the Halo and be pushed away by its explosion?... Why was he teleported AT ATLL? (he didn't make it through, i thought)

Ok, so it is possible that time travel is not a viable theory. But IMO they should continue the story line from Chief's perspective. I'm tired of the god damn cliffhanger endings with the Halo games. So we now have to wait at the minimum of one year to even see the possibility of continuing Chief's story. I want to see what happens on the planet that is proposed to be Onyx at the end of Halo 3. But I also would like to ask why would Bungie put a broken part of a ship that looks similar to the Dawn in the trailer? No one has answered that yet. They always avoid that question. It could be to create hype. But why would they create false hype this early? It just doesn't make sense.

Gravy66 Halo 3 ended with too much of a cliffhanger for them to end it. They can't have the crescendo of music while MC's ship is floating towards a unknown planet and just say "Oh sorry folks, no more MC. Everything else will be a prequel or based in between games about stuff you fans already know." Doesn't sound like a comment Frankie would make in a weekly update.
