Back in the days on Halo C.E. I noticed that there were 7 halo holograms in a cutscene. I got an idea that there were going to be 7 halo games, but I had thought that that theory had been shot down when Bungie stated that Halo 3 was the last game in the trilogy. So, what I'm getting at is that with Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo:ODST, and Halo: Reach there are a total of 5 Halo games. But what I think is that there will be 2 more Halo games.

P.S. Halo Wars is not counted as a game in the Halo series.

It's an interesting theory, but I think the Halo Universe will keep going as long as they can keep it fresh or interesting. I doubt they would cap the series well in advance without fully knowing it's potential.

What else could they base future Halo games off. Halo:Reach is before Halo C.E., ODST is between Halo 2/3. They could possibly be from the Covenant POV, but I don't see that happening. They could possibly expand Halo 3's campaign, answering the question of what that planet that Master Chief was drifting towards at the end of Halo 3.

Active imaginations are an amazing thing.

My Theory
We have had Halo 1,2 and 3 , and now we are getting reach (sticking to the spartan plot). I was thinking the planet you see at the end of Halo 3 , may be Harvest - Hang on its not what others have said.
No , not time travel (sorry I haven't read the books so my facts may be off) , and Halo : Reach is just what everybody thinks , playing spartans in the battles on the planet Reach. At the end of that game(like the special ender on Halo 3 after credits), assuming they won/havent died. The spartans still on reach (this being the time after Halo 3) witness a ship - the ship Master Chief is on , fall from the sky and they head off to investigate. This would leave open ends for games set with Master cheif meeting with the remaining spartans to reclaim reach or w.e.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Maybe even more counting spin-offs and such. M$ realizes this is a moneytrain and they're gonna ride it for all it's worth.

Bungie bases everything around 7 just because there were 7 holograms doesn't mean anything.

You may be right, it may have been simply a coincidence, but Bungie is getting pretty close to 7 games in the Halo franchise. Anyway, its just a theory.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

I would suggest reading The Fall of Reach and First Strike to better clarify your point of view of these matters. Ghosts of Onyx is also recommended.

Nothing wrong with having theories, but you should try to make sure they are somewhat informed.

The books crush that theory and I recommend them to anyone. Even if your a non-reader they are just a exciting and emotional as the games.

But you can't forget that 7 is bungie's favorite number... Thats where they got the 7 holograms. I mean sure, there has to be something behind the #7 that bungie likes, but just 7 games? At this point, it seams that they are going to make games for each book and tell the whole halo story through video games. As long as each halo game ends with some end not tied up there will be another game. Like H3, where master chief is floating toward some planet. A whole serries can't end on that. So when the 7th halo game comes around, if it ties all the loose ends, then it might be the end...

I think Halo Reach will serve as a significant stepping stone to whatever the sequel to Halo 3 will be.

Some things have dawned on me. First people noticed that Reach and the planet shown at the end of Halo 3 look the same.

second of all I read this on Halopedia: "ONI commandeered the mine after it breached a secret area beneath Reach's surface containing a Forerunner artifact that was highly desired by the Covenant." then this: "the planet was completely uninhabited and mostly glassed."

Now, what exactly is that artifact buried on Reach?
Is it something similar to the artifact on Earth?

How about a Halo spin-off about the Fourrunners original war with the Flood? That could be good.
