Subject: Bruce? What?

I think there's a few people who need to go to their doctor and have their ears examined, because i'm concerned you may have hearing problems.

Cortana clearly says Bruce. I don't know much else about him, but from the way i've heard him described from some people who know what they're on about, hes an awesome character who well deserves a starring role in this game.

Just stop. Really. Why the hell would she say Bruce! whenever Brutes just jumped down from the phantom. It was MC's voice in the Pelican, doubt they switched him out right before it landed. Honestly joke's over. If he is named bruce then talk, until then the joke is old.

As an unbiased third party, I listened to the E3 Video Demo once again and I have come to the conclusions that Cortana clearly says "BRUCE!!!"

Ok I agree that Bruce will most likely be in Halo: Reach, but in the E3 Halo 2 trailer or whatever, she clearly says "Brutes!" Why would she just yell a Spartans name that has nothing to do with the problem at hand? And when she yells, Brutes drop down and attack the Warthog. Why in the world would Cortana yell "Bruce!" when he's not even in that part? Did you see any other Spartans? Were there not Brutes that dropped down from the ship when she yelled "Brutes!"?

yes there were Brutes! anyways, there are so many ideas being thrown around it's hard to tell anything at the moment

But their being brutes is simply a side matter, she was simply warning Bruce about a threat he hadn't noticed. Really, know thee nothing?

I can tell that some of you are confused about the matter between "brutes" and "Bruce". This is simply a classic case of "Bungie humour" where they use double entendre and misdirection to create a parallel between 2 items. The line was purposely placed at a point where Brutes appear to create harmony between those who stuck to the "basic" Halo plot and those who chose to delve more deeply into Halo lore and the rather large role that Bruce was originally meant to play.

im not doubting that 259 is Bruce, but i highly doubt that is what she said.
thats master chief aka JOHN in the E3 gameplay.
they could have had bruce as a playable character that got cut, but if it was oh well he wasn't in the gameplay.
just goes to show that people can get some crazy ideas in there heads when they think they heard something, even when it doesn't make sense.

Spartan Bruce!

I knew he'd come back from the depths of the Halo 2 Demo!

Using the logic used in that link, posted in about he third or fourth reply, that means that the Sierra 320's name could be;

Ace
Ice
Dice
Face
Abe
Bead
Fade

and even If. "If" would be a very good name for a spartan.

Edit; I do acknowledge that Bruce may appear in Reach, but not upon the logic of the earlier link.

I read the books. Don't remember a Bruce. And still doesn't explain his 259 and the girls 320 designation being over the 150 candidates.

I suggest re-reading them. The second read through is always the best, and you notice things you didn't on your first read-through. ^ ^

He's doesn't remember because there's nothing of the sort in the book. You can re-read something a hundred million times, but things that were never there aren't going to appear. The highest-numbered Spartan in Fall of Reach is John with 117.

Ugh, people are so thick.

Everyone is making fun of the E3 2003 trailer of Halo 2, where a brute jumps on the wharthog, and Cortana yells "BRUTES" although is sounded like "BRUCE". So people are saying that the spartan from the E3 demo, was actually a spartan named Bruce.

THE END.

If anyone suffers from increased density it seems to be you my friend.
/facepalm. The Hog gets boarded by Brutes as soon as the offending yell happens.

What about at 2:17 of the halo 2 E3 demo where the marine says "Bruce, down low." There weren't any brutes around.

Another important point not to be ignored. This all seems prime to me. Bruce making a come back would be simply marvelous. From the banner, I'd almost like to say that Bruce will have a combat knife, though that is only speculation.

I'm thinking some collective information on the canon of Bruce needs to made. Page numbers, quotes, images.

You guys do realize that that Halo 2 E3 demo doesn't have two Spartans in it right? The Master Chief is the Spartan on the Gauss gunner. After awhile Cortana yells Brutes! When one jumps down on the front of the warthog and kills the driver and passenger marines. Nothing to do with Bruce. Plus why would it be Bruce why not an actual known Spartan like Fred. Unless he is the middle one.
