Why hello there.

As Durado said: The open-world element in Halo 3: ODST is an interesting addition. Will players be able to choose which of the four beacons they explore first? Can you explore them in any order you like?
Again, I don't want to ruin any surprises, but I can clarify a misstatement in [a recent Game Informer] article. There are actually more than four beacons, and once you find the first one you're pretty much free to roam the dark, Covenant-patrolled streets of New Mombasa however you like - free to find the remaining clue beacons in any order you choose.

So is it?

HACK THE PLANET!

I think so.

It seems like it will have an Oblivion or Fallout 3 feel, but with more restrictions.

It's like if the Fanta girls and the the cast of Girls gone Wild participated in a remake of Labyrinth that takes place in a crackhouse version of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory where the sugar is cocaine, the candy is crystal meth, and the chocolate is LSD*takes a breath*and the goblin king became the gummy bear king.

awsomly cool i had no idea

Yeah, it'll be a free roam. My question is after we're done with the beacons, will it continue the story in the free roam mode? Or will it go linear?

Yes, this is from watching the live E3 Demo on G4TV. It'll feel a lot like Bioshock me thinks. Except that the whole area is opened, and the different levels are entered by going to the beacons on the map.

Keep it classy Flood.

It will probably give you a few more beacons, but in a definitive order. So, it may become semi-linear.

Yeah, I was ver angry when I herd about this. I just hope we dont get a far cry were every enemy is the exact same and more than 95% of the mission getting from point A to point B....

The really good part of it? Is that if you are having fun while posting well and enjoying your time here, not only is your trust rating improving (and the title as a result), you begin to realize/understand that the REAL reward isn't a title or a colored banner. The real reward is that you're actually enjoying your time here and your interaction with other members of the community. -Recon Number 54

Bungie hasn't confirmed anything yet I think.

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

From what I've heard, you start the game and find the first "flashback." Then you can go around New Mombasa and find all the flashbacks in any order you choose. (I think that's what it is.) You'll get a map to help you find your way and your vision mode will help you see the flashback events.

That is what I think is happening.

I am reularg.

Yes it is.

"Feet first into hell"
Here comes the Flood. Say goodbye to flesh and blood.

I think it is a open world game. The flashback sections will be more linear like the other Halos. But regardless if it is open world or not it is going to be a good game.
