Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)
Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)
For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"
*WARNING: SPOILERS AND WALL O TEXT*
Ok, lets just sit and think for a second here....
Legendary ending of Halo 3 shows Masterchief accompanied by Cortana, floating in space on half of a UNSC frigate, "Dawn". Afterwards, it shows the half ship floating to an unknown planet with strange lights gleaming from its surface. Some people have speculated that the planet is Onyx, or has to do with Marathon. Even though I dont belive either one of those, I am not concentrating on those theories.
However, I am here to talk about a recent theory that continues to pop up countless time on this forum so far.
Reach. The brand new, never before seen trailer shows a planet that, in some degree, has the same lighting effects that ANY OTHER PLANET WOULD HAVE with the sun. It shows a FULLY INTACT frigate floating above, and explosions errupting on its surface. No bright lights, but obvious planetary surfaces.
Lets first look at the timeline of the 2. Halo 3 takes place slightly after the events of Halo 2. (which, without the books, takes place awhile after Halo 1) Halo: Reach on the other hand, takes place slightly before Halo 1, when the Pillar of Autumn was still there, along with other spartans (possibly including the earlier Masterchief)
Well, I see Halo: Reach as a game (duno about RPG, FPS, RTS yet. I hope FPS) that takes place during the time before Halo 1, and gives us Bungies way of how the battle of Reach went down, all the way to when the planet is GLASSED. I can see Masterchief making a reappearance, but maybe with other spartans as well.
Now what I have read over and over, is others are speculating that the planet at the end of Halo 3 is Reach. Most of those speculations involve time travel. I will hit this the most. Think: Not only would it be a stupid idea for MC to travel back in time, but would not make sense since Reach was GLASSED. Not only does bungie not enjoy the idea of time travel, but the thought of the futuristic Masterchief popping up and saving the day at Reach, is just stupid. It would pretty much kill off the whole story of Halos 1,2,and 3.
Yes, portals can be unexpected, but the sheer thought of him traveling through time is completly unreasonable. Halo: Reach should be centered around you being able to take place in the battle of Reach, not running around in Mark VI armor killing everything in sight, screwing up the whole story of Halo.
Opinions are opinions, but sometimes they require a bit of common sense, and sometimes facts. Think before putting together a theory that may sound cool, but would be logically impossible. Halo: Reach is going to be something new to us, so lets get off the idea of Reach being that 'legendary planet' and think of other things that may actually make sense. I myself, am not that good with pointing out facts and proof, but I do try to show some common sense and see that time travel through a destablized portal is highly doubtful, in bungies favor. Another place, probably. Another time...not really.
