Subject: Is this the End for Bungie doing "Halo" things?

Its probably already a topic but i can't find it.
I was just wondering, because i have heard that bungie sold the rights to the halo universe to mircosoft. So does mean this mean after Halo Reach bungie cant make anything to do with "Halo"?

Do people out there thinks its a good thing. Bungie getting some fresh ideas, maybe bringing marathon back. Maybe a mix of both, whatever the answer i'm looking forward to the future.

Well they said that Halo: ODST was their last Halo project and now they announced this...

Even if they do say it is the last one i'm not really going to trust them.

I hope the Halo series remains for a couple of more games. Too many games in one series can be a little boring. Now, I've never played any of the Final Fantasy games, but isn't that game on its 13th? And is that series still good? halo could go the same way, but we won't know until the future.

We still don't know what the deal is with the planet that master chief is headed towards at the end of Halo 3. Why would Bungie have added that if they weren't planning on making a game dealing with that at some point?

The Snow Leopard's wisdom includes: Understanding one's shadow-side; trusting one's inner-self; agility; strength; the ability to stalk; understanding the power of silence.

Halo will never die, because it will never stop making money, at least for some time that is.

halo will never die because it has US, the community, thats what willkeep it alive, and that the people who have created this were only a catalyst to somthing greater, a mass gathering of imagination, of excersizing the part of our minds that allows us to transcend the perils of everyday life and escape into a universe filled with wonder and hope. money or no money, the halo universe is priceless because it poseses more power of creativity within the community than ive seen with any other game or anything for that matter.

I deserve perfection, but lag killed me when I was walking. Nowhere NEAR enemies

Well not necessarily....Just because Bungie don't own the rights doesn't mean Microsoft will completely ignore Bungie for developing their games.

Just because Bungie and Microsoft split doesn't mean Microsoft won't ever trust Bungie with development duties again.... Obviously they still trust that Bungie are still great Halo developers.

If I remember correctly(feel free to check, thought I read it in an update around the separation), Bungie doesn't own Halo anymore but under contract has the rights to produce(if they so choose) the next Halo games(for MS). So pretty much unless Bungie studios blows up or sends a bad of dog poo to Microsoft, they will always be Microsoft's first choice in making Halo games.
