It just seems kind of odd to not really finish the story. We finished the fight yes, but leaving him drifting towards a planet at sunrise seems an odd ending. Also bringing up a point about sunrise and sunset. The trailer says from the beginning you know the end, kinda like sunrise and in the trailer for H:R it is sunset that is shown. Just thought it was a coincidence or possibly more. Give me some thoughts on what is going on with MC.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

First off, if this is slightly leaning to the idea of Reach being the legendary ending planet, please go read this

Masterchief might be shown in Reach, but it is doubted that we will play as him. We have no idea atm, so hold onto your hat.

"Play to win...Win to live."

SEARCH BAR FTW

This is a PREQUEL to Halo: CE (Halo 1).

It takes place right before the events of Halo 1.

So it may be possible MC is in Halo: Reach.

But your not going to play as him that's for sure.

Why don't you level 50's out there, when you finally decide to apply for colleges...why don't you put that you were a level 50 on your application. And put it on your job resume, too. See how much it matters, and how much people care.

from the trailer and sounds of things, i dont think MC will be in it, because he is either inspace on the space station, or on his way to halo.

what it seems like is this starts just before the pillar of autum left the system.

he is most likely in some of HR. but halo isnt all about MC.

Who knows. It would suck not to see what the Halo franchise was built on just disappear.

yeah that would be cool. It does sound a bit like a fanboy but Halo is not the same game without Master Chief. Such is the same with Half-Life without Gordon Freeman or Metroid without Samus. Just doesn't seem right.

I wish bungie could have a test that was required before you could access this forum, you needed knowledge from the books to pass the test. All the idiot running around...

I have read Fall of Reach. Just because Bungie guided the authors in the writing of the books does not mean that they will follow the same exact storyline. Christ get off your soapbox about the damn books. You don't have to read the books to know everything.

The books Tie in with the damn story. Its all the same story, it's all in the Halo bible. Bungie would have to re work the entire plot, if the game differed from "The Fall of Reach".

Hell, HaloWars created PLENTY of plot holes as it is.

i have read the books so i hope this will help

halo reach will take place before the first halo game and is about the fall of reach. I think that you will be playing as either master chief with his squad of spartans or possibly as another spartan or maybe even a little bit like halo 3 odst where you play multiple characters

Well, I'll just say the biggest one.

1.The cover up ensemble used was that the Spirit of fire never made it back to human controlled space to warn the UNSC about the flood. However the books say that 22 of the 25 spartans were present on Reach. The 3 not there was Grey team, not the spartans from HaloWars. So if the spartans made it back, so did the ship, meaning the humans should have known about the flood. But they didn't. So there is one hole.

If you want more go to halopedia.

Nope, Christ I think that's a big enough hole. Wonder how that's going to get covered

Well... ya kinda do. What you mean to say is "just because you've read the books doesn't mean you know everything." Because to know everything, you'd have to read the books. But on the other hand, book=/=everything.
Anyway, this game takes place before Halo:CE, on Reach (obvious). But as someone previously stated, Nylund did not originate all of the story before the events of Halo:CE. He just penned a story that fleshed out the details of the events. But as someone else stated, Bungie may or may not stick to the story exactly as it is, meaning the Masterchief may or may not make an appearance. Whether or not they stick to it though, there is still a chance that MC will be in it. It's just a question of how, and if he will be playable. At this point, everything is speculation.

They may be listed as MIA?
Technically, all of them are listed MIA for morale purposes, but they may have been legitimately MIA... I'm not sure. So the 25 may not be counting the ones from Spirit of Fire. I'm gonna go check it out now.
