Subject: So which disk will I use?

I saw the interview from gametrailers, and from what I understood was that a separate disk will contain the new maps. Will I need to use this disk If I want to play with the new maps? What about forge or campaign?

if you wish to play the Halo 3 campaign, keep your Halo 3 disk. If you will never play the campaign ever again and get ODST, you might as well throw it away.

I believe you use the map disk to install and thats it.

I think that will be the way you do it too.

Well, if Bungie is smart, they're not gonna let you install those 3 maps to your Xbox HD. That would be too costly. Think about all the people who buy one copy of ODST so they can pass around the maps to their friends and relatives then never use the disk again. Perhaps they'll include a disk AND an ODST exclusive code for those 3 maps. But for now, all that's confirmed is that the 2nd disk will contain Halo 3's matchmaking (and probably Custom Games and Forge) modes with all 24 maps as a standalone disk, and the normal Halo 3 disk will be for your Campaign. Still seems a little off if you ask me.

They probably have an instruction book for that matter.

Whats wrong with the H3 Campaign?

Nothing is wrong with it. I never said there was. I like it, but other people merely bought Halo 3 for the multiplayer. In every game I buy, I ALWAYS play the campaign at least once before even thinking about playing multiplayer.

Actually, the whole passing the disk around thing could happen. With Halo 2, we bought that one disk that hadd all of the maps on it. I'm sure you could pass that around.

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

It seems more likely to me that one disc is for Halo 3: ODST's campaign, firefight, that sort of stuff. And the other is for Halo 3's multiplayer including the three exclusive maps. So, like, if you want to play on Longshore, you have to play Halo 3 off of the ODST multiplayer disk.

Technically you could. But I'm probably sure it will come with a code just to make sure you don't do that.
