If you already live in heaven, Where do you go when you die?

So you know how Master Chief and the other spartans got split after the whole reach meltdown event?

What if this is the game that follows up on the other spartans during reach, and possibly even after reach's fall... Think about it, the other spartans have just as much story in the books as master chief does... so why not make a game (or maybe multiple games) that lead you through their story? from the Planet meltdown, all the way to the strange inverted world thing they end up in with Dr. Halsey in "Ghosts of Onyx"? If so that would be the sickest game series EVER!!!!

not to mention possibilities of advancing MM, forge, and custom games.

-(another somewhat important thing to address)-

oh... and to address the whole Spartan-259 "Noble-1" Bull crap...

They probably made another Spartan just for the game, so that your character isn't tied directly to the books when you play through the storyline...

think about it... let's say you played as Linda. The game would feel more like a movie that you read the book to before seeing.... because, from reading the books, you already know exactly everything that happens to Linda in the book, making the game boring and predictable...

by making another Spartan that tags along with them, Bungie is able to do what they want with the storyline. Make him seperate from the others for small amounts of time and add more story to it, whilst also adding perspective to the parts of storyline you already know.

This was a good idea posted by swordboy98, except for the ridiculous last part...
That would be kinda cool... by the end the spartans of Halo: Reach could end up for some reason on a mysterious blue planet that masterchief is drifting towards. Ha Masterchief lands and is ambushed by his fellow spartans. Epic battle

this is plausible.

-You look like you could suck a golf ball through a waterhose.

I have to agree that would be so much fun. Of course most people say its better in the book because you can picture it however you want, but a game about it would be amazing.

If you already live in heaven, Where do you go when you die?

yeah... especially the crazy intense parts that only a TEAM of spartans could handle...

"I hope nothing, I fear nothing, I am free"
"A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free." - Nikos Kazantzakis
"The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of martyrs" - Hasan al-Basri
Black Chapter, for all religious and political debate that doesn't fit in the Flood.

I'd favour this were it not for the call sign discrepancy. :\ Sure, it's possible, but it's equally possible they've decided to retcon that plot/throw in another part which wasn't previously mentioned.

It would be epic, heck, even if thats part of the half movie-half game part where you make the decisions and watch it play out, it would still be awesome.

Here is a thing I made: Linkage

Here is a Leet I made: Link BLARGH

I R SAY TEH HIS ASWELL

This could explain why Bungie hasn't let Eric Nylund and company expand on what happened to them.

What call sign discrepancies? You mean like Nova 1 and Sierra 2-5-9? Or am I missing something?

If you already live in heaven, Where do you go when you die?

One strange thing is the fact that they are releasing a multiplayer beta.... meaning that it's probably going to be either a game extremely focused on the multiplayer side... or a game with an extremely different multiplayer experience than H3

damn i need to finish First strike so i can get to the ghosts of oynx

  • 06.02.2009 10:20 PM PDT

Yeah you could be right, luckily i've read the books!

  • 06.02.2009 10:25 PM PDT

I totally agree with what your saying as to Bungie could go crazy with different new titles from other Spartan's perspectives, but I'd guess that this game is more reflecting the book. This way they leave the floodgates open to just what your saying... more stories from different views(but leaving the back story concreted).

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

I don't think it would go all the way to the events on Ghost of Onyx, that is too far out and there is too much more to that story. I certainly believe that this game would be done great justice exploring what went on both during the initial engagement and after The Autumn retreated.

Talk about some crazy ground engagements.

but since there were only 150 spartan II's, and only 150 spartans (including ones that did not make itafter augmentation) during the events at reach, why would there be a spartan 259?

because

1.) there were more than 150 kids that were eligible before Dr. Halsey picked them out... they could've already been numbered before the original 150 were picked...

and

2.) because it doesn't HAVE to be numbered 1-150.... thats just what people assume

Viva La Revolution!
Social Infection ftw

In addtition there were 2 sets of Spartan-IIs

This theory seems good, to add new story to the fall of reach.

  • 06.05.2009 7:08 PM PDT

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...

Well I think we are all forgeting one thing... all the time spent between the time the Spartans spent fighting on different world before the battle of Reach. I mean think about it the book Halo: Fall of Reach only ended with the battle at Reach, so why cant the game to the same thing.

IMO I think that the game will be playable battles on all the fights on the different world leading up to the Battle at Reach.

Also Im thinking this will be Bungies oppotrunity to both:
1) Expand the knowlegde of these battles
and 2) Expand the knowledge of all of the unknown Spartans

wrong, sir.

Re-read the books. The second set of S-II's were were cancelled due to insufficient funds during the war. That is why they came up with the cheaper alternative, the Spartan-III's...

Here we are again bro... Just you and me. Same kind of moon same kind of jungle. Real number 10 remember... Whole platoon, 32 men chopped into meat... We walk out just you and me, nobody else. Right on top huh? Not a scratch... Not a f**kin' scratch. You know who ever got you. They'll come back again. And when he does I'm gonna cut your name right into him... I'M GONNA CUT YOUR NAME RIGHT INTO HIM!
