Personally, I liked The Flood the most, although I know that it wasn’t nearly as popular as the others.

I loved FS and FoR. TF was innaccurate in over 400 areas in the book and made the Covenant seem way too human. Which they are not. I say that based on the precedent given by Eric Nylund and his version of the terribly vicous enemy that feels nothing towards the human race. Also they act nothing like us and are more violent / "-blam!-y" then they are described in TF.

If Dietz had made sure his details were more accurate to the already established Halo universe, then I would have said it would be okay. But he did not. So I stand my ground saying that The Flood sucked and Nylund's two Halo accounts are great.

FoR AND FS were my favorites for sure, they really explained more of the universe that i have grown to know and love...

for me it was The Flood it made the marines badasses and it gave the covenant emotions such as yapyap in the ghost drives out on the plain where he finnaly feels happy but he sees the pillar of auttum blow up. and it was cool to see what the covenant thought, but the FOR and FS were really cool to

I agree. I liked seeing the world through the eyes of the Covenant. I also think it flowed better that the Fall of Reach or First Strike.

I voted The Fall of Reach, because it seemed to be the best story. The Flood, of course, is heavily scrutinized, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it is a retelling of a story that Bungie already did a fantastic job of not only telling, but letting us live through in the game.

First Strike was pretty good, but it just seemed like Nylund made a huge guess as to what was coming next. I doubt that any of the info in First Strike will be incorporated into Halo 2, even though it does make a pretty good story that explains how the Chief got back to Earth. Also, as cool as it would be, I do not believe there will be other Spartans in Halo 2.

The Fall of Reach was just a great story about humanity's struggle to survive against a ruthless and superior enemy. The fact that its endorsed as the official backstory for Halo makes it that much better, just because I know that anything in that book is sure to be true about the characters and places that could be mentioned in Halo 2.
