I never played Halo 2 so correct me if I'm wrong, but at this point in the story, weren't the elites on your side?

actually no they were not that is in halo 3 that they begin to turn to the unsc

Everyone's a pacifist between wars. It's like being a vegetarian between meals.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a "turn"... more like a begrudging alliance. Hood and 'Vadum didn't exactly get along all that well.

Were it so easy.

So..........THIS is BEFORE Halo 3 (When 117 lands) but AFTER Halo 2 when Johnson and the humans teamed up with the Elites to kill Tartarous?

So if this is AFTER they killed Tartarous(sp?), AFTER the Elites had teamed up with humanity to kill him, I have it right?

The TECHNICALLY Elites joined with Humanity at the LAST mission "The Great Journy" at the end of Halo 2.

AM I WRONG? Or am I confused?

Well according to the Halo wiki (which I know isn't the greatest source, but it's the only place I can find a date), the game itself takes place on October 20th, the same day that the First Battle of Earth began (the battle depicted in the first few levels of Halo 2). Tartarus should still be alive, the Elites are still the enemies. Hope that helps.

Confused. The carrier leaves New Mombasa when ODST's are landing, and so the elites. They were the protectors of the Prophets at that part of the story so they have to go with Regret. That's why elites are not in H3: ODST, they are in Delta Halo, protecting the Prophet of Regret. In Halo 3: ODST the Brutes are... hum... "keeping what the elites did".
I only hope to see elites corpses around the city or at least the destroyed scarab =D

So pretty much Regret pulled all the elites back on board the carrier, but left all the brutes to go on an Ark scavenger hunt? That would pretty much explain it, i guess. If that's the case then Regret is an total ass for leaving them brutes there and then slip space nuking those monkeys. Maybe he doesn't love the brutes as much as Truth does.

>>KEEP IT CLEAN<<

at the start of halo 2 at New Mombasa, you're still fighting the elites, it's not until later in the game when the elites see the truth thanks to gravemind, the chief and guilty spark about halo.

To right man, i hope there will be corpses and the destroyed scarab, its these little things that make these games perfect.

Four shots, four kills, reload, repeat. This is the work of a sniper.

It would have been cool, but I'm fine with just brutes. Bungie had some reason to fill the plot hole.
BTW, just cause your not allied with them doesn't mean you HAVE to fight them. Basically its that the prophet decided to send brutes into New Mombasa after instead of elites.

Last time I checked, the Elites attacked earth, destroyed many of Earths space stations, and threatened to activate the Halos.

I think we have every reason to kill them if their not our allies.
