As mwntioned in a lot of threads on the forum at the moment Reach is a prequel to The Halo Trilogy Arc. Which means it is highly doubtful chief will be involved massively. Though i like the idea of taking the halo books and turning them inot games that will probably be good succeses, what i hope for is that majority of the communtiy here would rather see the story progress instead of the books' stories being made into games. You guys decide if you want the story to go with MC, or without MC, or just not at all and let them feed us fillers.

Vote in the poll also don't just reply...

Sadly, I think MC is gone... It really sucks because MC is just as iconic as Mario. Well, for us older gamers at least.

Yah its sad to say that they might of got rid of the chief. He was the main reason i was sad when i beat Halo 3. Just to know that about 7 years of waiting are over with a cliffhanger. But Bungie can be that way.

Take the path of least resistance.

I'ld kinda like to see Bungie make a new franchise. See what else they're capable of. I would really hate to see this franchise beaten to death and I'm becoming scared for it.

its probly filling in the story for those who havent read hal: fall of reach so that future progress would make some sense.

That's not a bad theory actually.

yah that idea does make sense because bungie is known for putting in information that was shared really early on. Reach being insanely early on you be playing and pick up a detail that they could reveal in a conference or whatevr.

thank you. i would have to reread first strike in order to accurately recount the rest of my theory though. i dont quite remember what happened.

yah because some of the gamers out there don't want to pick up the book and understand the dasis oh Halo. but with this they are made to leanr Halo's roots so they could use the knowledge for future reference.

You just don't put in a cliffhanger ending for no reason.

MC will be back, if not this game then surely the next.

yah im part of the group your in where i want chief to be back. To ne it doesn't ame a difference which game it is i just want the chief back. What i wanna know is why come out with all these side games. They can make all the money from those games by just making the halo 3 sequel. So it goes back to the theory mentioned here where they are trying to explain the roots of Halo so a sequel can bebetter understood.

I'm having flashbacks to metal gear. MGS3 went backwords before it went forward and had Raiden instead of the poster boy Snake. Star Wars comes to mind as well and of course Halo Wars and ODST.

i would like to mention the fact that i would like the story to go on.......especially with what i think that planet is at the end of halo 3's legendary ending, but i also do like these fillers that they have. This one in particular has a potential for a great story if they follow the book. I honestly don't think i put that book down for more than an hour until finishing it, then like a week later i bought it so i could read it again instead of borrowing from the libary. I also like the fact that you'll probably get to fight alongside other spartains rather than it just be the cheif alone....and i would be a fool not to pick this one up as well as ODST.
