Listen to this paragraph from todays update 7/16. "The game steadily becomes more fun. Jamie mocked up a fake multi-player game with some Master Chief AI that just stands there and lets you shoot it-so I spent half an hour EXPLORING SOME NEW PHYISICS IN-DEPTH. Now I know that the idea of ragdoll physics in halo 2 is played out, and honestly i dont care if halo 2 has it or not. But a lot of ppl like the idea of ragdoll in halo 2. so tell me your ideas or terrible insults about this crappy find!

oh and frankie said that bungie wants to make a ton of changes to the physics and weapons balance too. so that fake MP game Jamie made was maybe the computer would spawn a MC at a random spot on the map and when you shoot it, it tumbles and rolls all it pleases, or maybe its still the same and the body gets all stretched out and stuff. oh well

Hmmm...I like ragdoll physics. Its fun. Its gonna be better than just the wavy arm thingy that they do no matter what in Halo 1.

have you seen players at zanzibar? they used the halo 1 physics for bodies and that was the beta version so im sorry no ragdolls play half-life 2 if you truly love them

accutally in halo 2 i think they will use them. they just didnt have it ready when E3 was happening-just like they didnt have all the vehicles ready or the melee combos. it says in the update they are still testing it so dont be so sure its not in there. plus look at how the Elite dies when hes hit wit the plasma sword at E3' 04. thats perty close to ragdoll.

compare that to mc being whacked by a plasma sword in halo there will be almost no difference (i put almost because halo 2s plasma swords are stronger with the lunge attack)

if you look at the vids the bodies in halo 2 still wave their arms and legs when airborn

like i stated! the ragdoll physics were not done by E3 '04, just like the HUD. they just put in a filler because they need somethin there. in the update they are STILL testing the physics-

Jaime mocked up a fake multiplayer game with some Master Chief AI that just stands around and lets you shoot it – so I spent about half an hour exploring some new physics in-depth

see, they are still testing it. no way it could have been done for E3 '04.

I think he was talking about full ragdoll physics thats in the "final" game.
He was saying that you can't use the E3'04-03 demos to tell what physics Bungie will use in the "final" game. Bungie was not done with the Physics engine at the time of the demos.

ok lets get everything straight

halo and halo 2 ragdolls are not full ragdolls cos they wave their arms in mid flight

full ragdolls just flop about lifeless

i hope this solves any misunderstanding

LOOK!

Look at the pics its shows the jackel taking forum of the force that the grenade when it blew up.- DRWILL

Halo did't have any ragdoll engine it used death animation. And there's proof that Halo 2 does use the physics engine.

Halo 2 also use's a thing thats makes the models move realist, and that use many joints on the model. Which needs to be in a game to use Ragdoll physics.

im not talking about the death animations im talking about death in mid flight

i dont really care about death animations

Think about what other physics would you test with a non-moving MC?

Halo 1 use death animations,and also the Halo 2 E3' 04-03 demos.
So how can you test physics when it is animtions? You can't so there IS a new physics engine in Halo 2 that was not done when the E3 demos where. So think about testing? Testing? Why test a engine thats already done?.

Plus a sreecnshot shows Ragdoll engine, the P Sowrd kinda showed alittle Ragdoll in the E3 ' 04.

So get use to it!!!

(copy and paste)

now tell me are there death animations or not?

the zanzibar presentation was the beta version of halo 2 after the beta there is NO turning back only testing and bug fixing

frankie was testing an AI controlled mc on the physics did it say ragdoll physics NO
it could be the gravity, or the speed that he goes when mc gets blown in the air. heck i could go on for ages but its 1 am and i dont have much time

if this cant convince you then im out

for heavans sake if they were working on ragdoll physics then why would the animators work on death animations it would be a waste of time and a waste of money!
