When watching some gameplay video from e3, i noticed something different. If you watch this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIDhDW_Q-4Q then you'll notice at 2:25 to 3:03 when he is shooting the brute. Is it just me or does it look like they now have energy shields.

NO GROUP INVITES!!!

They have such in Halo 3 too but the shield flare effect isn't in for some reason.

Brutes wear Power Armor which provides them shields. When the shields fail, the armro falls apart.

The brutes already had the shield in Halo 3 just slightly different effects for it.

OK, now i'm gonna be referencing all parts of the games/books universe here;

In Contact Harvest, the Elites and brutes have shield technology.

In Halo: Wars, no one does but the Spartans somehow do (?)

In The Fall of Reach, Elites do and the Spartans get them at the end.

In Halo: CE onward, elites do.

In Halo 2, Brutes don't.

In Halo 3, Brutes do.

And it looks like in ODST, Brutes do.

What the hell? Its a pretty major discrepency...
(I'm blaming Ensemble. Cos i like Bungie too much. )

The brute regime probably had already taken place. Notice that there weren't any elites in the footage?
