If you haven't heard of project natal then check out this demonstation Video this shows what natal can do.

Do you think that there could be a version of Halo Reach specifically designed for Natal.

Heres another Video

I think that if Bungie made a version of Halo (not just Halo Reach) if would work quite well.

Do remember thoug it doesnt just have to be Reach it could be a special version of it or a completely new Halo game

Thoughts?

I think the project would be a bust.

Natal is amazing, but Sony had a good point, when saying if you have a gun in a video game, and you're using motion control, you need to have a button (trigger) to fire that weapon. While it's not out of the realm of possibility that Microsoft would later include peripherals for things like firearms or swords, just to get more money out of us, I think it would also decrease the effectiveness of Natal.

On the flip-side, working as a Spartan, instead of controlling one via a controller, would be pretty interesting. I'd definitely play it.

Join Planet Reach
Hog sniping
Exalted is considered "the highest" because you can't get any bans or warnings of any kind for quite a long time, which is harder than just being a member for a long time.

That video is very impressive, but I seriously hope they aren't planning on releasing this any time soon.

I can't stand it when companies come out with an awesome idea and then shove it out the door to make money. The AI interaction in this video is a prime example of one of those ideas.

If they are trying to get this mass produced for the game Halo: Reach (which supposedly is going to be released next year) I have serious doubts as to the quality of the product.

Maybe I'm just being skeptical, but it works for me...

It may not be possible to use Natal with any Halo game since it would be way to intense to follow everything a Spartan would do in combat. Like firing a weapon would need you to push a button, and fast movements like crouching, throwing a grenade, running changing weapons and especially trying to jump. I think jumping would be impossible with Natal. I would love to play Halo that way, but it seems unrealistic.

lord i hope not.

Its just an eyetoy.

Apart from casual gaming and controlling the UI, the only place I can see Natal being used is in RPGs.

  • 06.03.2009 8:53 AM PDT

Your friend is not a reliable source of information

no probably not, I can't imagine natal being used for fps games effectively.

Project Natal is for casual gamers and casual games. You will not see a Halo game for natal.

Just think of how many buttons we use in Halo. That does not transfer very well to something that does not have a controller at all.

Even in the speech he was saying that Natal was a way to get new people, people who never really felt confortable to come to the XBOX. I dont know about you but if your playing games like halo you better be comfortable with a controller

you could have a gun designed for halo so that you would have a trigger to pull if you really felt you had too

just imagine though...

throwing a grenade, beating someone down, jumping looking down the scope, changing weapon picking up a weapon crouching. If ODST has a knife then reaching down to your belt and pulling out the knife.

Imagine the accuracy for forge though, rotating objects in your hands, you would feel like god

Hopefully not, and if it is, at least give us the option to use a joypad instead. I can't see it hapenning though.

ODST Romeo

The designers were just getting Natal at E3, I don't think they would have the time to re-design everything for Natal, plus a shooter game with Natal wouldn't be fun because of how slow and obviously you would have to move.

I would expect hardcore gamers wouldn't want to use Natal for driving games or FPSs.

Plus, I don't believe Natal will be available all that soon. Expect to see some really cool games announced for Natal at E3 2010.

They should really just save Project NATAL and release it inside of and apart of the new xbox coming out in 2011-2013. I Dont see many people buying NATAL for like $200, which is realistically the cheapest they could sell it for, with that said it will probably be even more expensive. They should just save it for the new console, and incorporate it into sweet games like Halo the right way - i.e. take your time Microsoft! your rushing this too much........

Halo will remain as the most hardcore game not a casual game. This is why there is no halo kart or other stupid ideas.

Lol what are you talking about. One of Halo's great attributes is that you can play in a range of intensities. Hardcore = MLG, SWAT, Snipers. Everything else = casual. That is why this game has such a broad range of players, and why there is so many "Hardcore" Generals who laugh at "Casual" Staff Captains; each are playing the game for entirely different reasons yet still enjoying it for the reliable and consistent gameplay. bnet forums are so funny.

You can't kill what's dead.

Stand. Fight. Resist. S2F.

How would you look behind you?

Thought of a FPS shooter using Project Natal, and unless they find the PERFECT formula, the game will fall flat.
