'We do not stop playing because we grow old...........we grow old because we stop playing'

We all know that HALO 3 is played best if it's not transfered to the XBOX HDD. Can anybody tell us if it will be ok to transfer ODST to the HDD for faster map loading and a noiseless gaming experience?

I've been playing Halo since 2002. My earliest memories include hiding at the shotgun window on Damnation and killing my dad with grenades while playing co-op on Pillar of Autumn.

Don't think of it now.

No one knows yet, unless a Bungie employee chimes in. However, there's a strong chance it will be since ODST will be released nearly a year after the NXE update. I would think that Bungie knew about NXE during most, if not all of, ODST's development. Many existing new games are already compatible with the transfer to HDD, so I dont see why ODST wouldn't.

Probably not because some of the experience is put into your cache and that is what is wrong with halo 3 at this point in time with downloading to your hdd. If you download it to your hard disk what is put into your cache. It was designed to go from disc to hdd, not hdd to hdd.

I know that Halo 3 multiplayer maps are loaded to your HDD cache, but since ODST is mainly going to be campaign it might be ok to transfer it to you HDD.

Huh, yeah I guess I misunderstood the question. It may be relevant to state the halo odst is done with the halo 3 engine.

It uses the same engine as Halo 3 so probably not. However, they may have made some improvements since then so it's down to a bungie employee to let us know.
