I not lazy but having two discs with ODST( one for campaign, firefight and theater. and one for matchmaking and forge) seems a bit pointless. In halo 3 you can go after a game of matchmaking straight into forge or campaign. with ODST it looks like you would need to go to your xbox and switch to the other disc from campaign to play matchmaking, then after matchmaking you want to play firefight you do the same again, Seems a bit silly, Because i like going from one to the other without switching disc... What Do You Think?

Well fitting 21 Multiplayer Maps on a Disk. Entire Forge mode. Then a Massive campaign plus even more Multiplayer Firefight mode.

Maybe there isnt enough space?

There's a finite amount of space on each disc. All the MP maps are on the MP disc, so it would be impossible to fit campaign and firefight on the same disc.

I'm gonna end up installing the first disc on my hard drive.

Regardless of space issues, it's still Halo 3 multiplayer, so it needs to be on a Halo 3 disc. I'm thinking this is mainly for achievements and party invites, etc. Think about how you would get a Halo 3 achievement when using the ODST game (you can't) or when you launch Halo 3 it tells you other people are playing Halo 3. It's probably just a limitation they can't get around easily, so they put it on it's own disc. My only hope is that installing that disc to the hard drive will actually give a speed boost this time rather than slow things down.

Cool?

You'll still have to get up to put the other disk in.

Absolute awesomeness.

  • 06.03.2009 10:02 AM PDT

and from everything ive read and heard we have no idea how long the story mode for this game will be.
but it has a very interactive enviorment and you choose which way you can go in the story so as one player might play the first lvl then 2nd and so on one might skip around from like 1 to 3 and so on atleast that wat the guy said when kevin and olivia interviewed him on G4

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Campaign and Firefight get their own disk?

I'm not complaining. Halo 3 campaign could have been a lot better without multiplayer mode.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

It would be complicated going through ODST options and Halo 3 options, both at once. Personally, I'm for it. I don't see why so many are against it.

It makes sense, your fitting 21 multiplayer maps onto one disk. That's quite a bit if you ask me (as much space as Halo 3 with it's campaign takes up I'll say), add a brand new campaign, and firefight.

You've got yourself one massive game. And in order to make the game compatible with NXE's "Install to Hard Drive" feature it should really be shrinked a bit.

I guess I'm just now getting into the loop with ODST... I have a question, though. Since the MP maps are on a second disc, does that mean you'll have to play Halo 3 off of this new disc that comes with ODST, or can you upload the maps to your HD and play off of the original H3 disc?

And on another note, personally... it wouldn't matter to me if ODST has two discs or not. You still have to get up to change your games out if you're tired of playing one to play another, ya know?

But I saw a post on here about not having enough space, and I tend to agree with that. Not having enough space, and the functionality of two different games on the same disc seems rather... impossible. But that's just me, I guess.

As a great man has said before "..." That is where the truth lies my friends

The second disk is basically for all the Maps, ODST includes Multiplayer, the Disc, is for the people that don't have XBL but want some new maps, ODST has multiplayer on its disc.

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

This is because the 360 recognizes it as two different games, and is why you get Halo 3 achievements off the second disc, the second disc is really a modified version of Halo 3 and NOT Halo 3:ODST from what I can tell. It probably has none of the new textures, weapons, etc on it.

I thought this was a good thing but I guess I'm alone here, LOL.

Me too, especially since all 24 maps are going to be on the disc, so I can delete them off my hard drive and free up space.
