I was just wondering if the controller was wired or wireless? I'm really hoping it's wired, I don't want to buy another battery pack which eventually gets wrecked, especially from the play they get from me.

I'm pretty sure it's wired as I think I saw a demonstration of the game using one of them and it was attached to the Xbox 360 with a wire, I'm just making sure though.

The controller is a wireless Xbox 360 Controller. At the moment it is not confirmed if it will come with a Play and Charge Kit.

If you did want to make it wired or any wireless controller wired here is what to do.

Take the Batterys out and put the empty Battery Shell on the back. (It should NOT switch on), Plug the Play and Charge Kit into it. It should Switch On although the Play and Charge kit will not show a red light because there isn't a battery in there.

Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

It's wireless, that's pretty much the standard in this day and age. I suggest getting a charge and play cable if you don't like trading out batteries/battery packs.

I seriously never knew that, even though I have owned an Xbox 360 since release date, thanks for the info.

I don't get the wireless controllers at all. The short battery life and Plug Charge kit means I still have it wired all the times.

I only have to pay more for the controller, buy the battery and charger.

the battery only gets a shortened life because people leave it plugged in after it's done, which ruins the battery.

How I know when it's ready?

If it's the green light, it has always taken hours to recharge it.

For anyone complaining about battery life, get better batteries. I get high-capacity AA's from http://www.all-battery.com, and the charge lasts forever. Not expensive either.

If you complain about wireless controller lag vs a wired one, I cant help you there.

But I honestly dont see why people wouldn't want wireless, regardless of controller lag.

I use these

Remember Reach!

I bought the dock that charges two batteries at once so I can have one battery charged and ready to go and then charge the other while I"m playing... It was a pretty simple solution but works well. I just need to get another black battery pack for the other Halo 3 special edition controller that I have and I hope they come out with a green battery back for this controller... A white or black one wouldn't look very good...

Once the green light comes on it stops charging the battery and runs the controller of the Xbox's Power. Although when it is Red it means the Battery is Charging and the Controller is running of the Xbox's Power.

I recommend getting a Quick Charge Kit. It charges 2 Batterys at one time in about 3 Hours.

Hours? it should only take like 2 hours. Green light=XBox on, No light=XBox off

If it's the green light, it has always taken hours to recharge it.

Providing the Collectors edition is less than £70 I'll be getting it.
Actually screw it, I'm getting it whatever the cost!

Told you. This is what I do when I do a late night LAN Party with my mates once a month. We just all bring out Xbox's, The controllers with a empty shell and I lend them my Play and Charge kits. It also stops the controllers interference on the 2.4GHz

Ok thanks. Was the charge kit supposed to have some guidebook? I didn't get.
I might consider Quick Charge kit. This E3 showed so many great games I might have to invest more on 360.

I have never managed with 2 hour loading time. But my battery is already ruined it seems so no reason to care. I live with wired controller just as well anyways.
Now I hope I had bought all the special Halo controllers as that makes 4.

I have a play and charge kit, but what I'm saying is that I have used the battery packs for so long they barely charge now meaning I have to leave the kit connected nearly all the time, there's also the issue of slight lag, I never thought there was at first but when I play with a wire connected it seriously does improve my game from when I don't have a wire connected, but that's just me.

Halo: Out with a whimper
A fan made kick ass 2D Halo.

"The crunch on Halo 2 was, 'Oh my god, we're f***ed. We're all going to die.'" ~ Chris Carney

The day after I got my 360 I bought a battery charger that came with 2 rechargable AA 2500mAh (no idea what that stands for but i think its pretty good for rechargables) batteries.

I got it for £7 (i live in england) from a market stall and its about £9.99 in shops (I saved £2.99 by shopping around, woot) . The batteries last for freaking ages before i have to recharge them =D

This is the exact model i have: Clicky

Be careful you get the right one though, because it also doubles up as a AAA (the little ones) charger and some packs come with two AAA batteries instead of AA -.^

I was wondering weather or not the controller came with a decent D-pad. I have had horrible luck with my wireless controller D-pads recently. The last good D-pad I have had was my Limited Edition Halo 3 360 green controller, but that stopped working with my wireless headset so I had to stop using it.

Then I decided to buy a brand new one because all my other controller analog sticks were wore down so I figured it was time for a new one. So I bought a new controller and the D-pad felt broken or loose. So I exchanged it at the store for another one, and the D-pad felt the same.

So I decided to deal with in, then for Christmas 1 year I got another brand new controller and the d-pad felt the same as the other 3. So I'm wondering if this new Halo themed controller's D-pad will feel perfect like my last Halo related D-pad.

Hopefully Bungie answers this seeing as how they demoed ODST with the new controller, maybe they can tell us if ODST D-pad feels normal or if it is loose feeling.
