"In the end all you sold us was boredom." -Andrew Schwabb

I know there are tons of threads but....
I can't find one listing this.

If you look at the picture showing the inside of the drop pod that shows Dare and Buck on the screens. Zoom in on the screen with Dare. you will find the number '035' on the 'jaw bone' of here helmet.

I say 'missing' because in a thread that listed the original Spartan II's there is no 035...

but the way the numbers jump, there must have been an 035 at one point. I don't have the book in front of me, so I can't recall from the fall of reach, what numbers were the numbers that washed out during augmentation or training.

As far as I am aware, only Spartan II's were listed in this way. There was another Topic that pointed to Halo pedia showing new Spartans tags were different.

Halo: CE Anniversary Achievement Idea
C-C-C-CANNON BREAKER!
Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

Well she is an ONI spook, but maybe she became one when she got "lost". I don't know, good theory!

They act all big and tough when their on camera with their friends and their guns. But when you break into their house in the middle of the night and stick a gun barrel in their face. They cry like babies and and piss their pants.

No, There were NO Spartans on Earth after the carrier jumped.

Weren't many of the failed Spartan IIs (both those who dropped out during training and those who were crippled by the augmentation process) swallowed up by other parts of the military? Since it seems Dare is part of ONI Section 1, isn't it possible she is also a former Spartan? This could also explain why she is using Spartan armour.

Okay...How do you know that, where do you know that from. Plus if she is an unlisted Surviving Spartan II now working for a different classified group, no one would know that she was on Earth.

None that we know of. Stop being so negative, he's theory makes a bit more sense then other theories I've seen around.

Yep, they were. However, I don't see how she would be getting into combat if she failed the Spartan II program. Perhaps she's the daughter of someone who was in the ORION project? (A Spartan 1.1?) She'll still have the same physical augmentations as her parents did, but she'll still be young and she'll still be in physical shape for combat.

She works for ONI hence, "We're going off course, we're gonna miss the carrier!." We're going right where I need to go." She gains control over the squad. THough it isn't clear if the commander of the ship even knew about her little plan to use her ODSTs to help her with some ONI thing.

Plus I have a game informer magezine that confirms it, it's a few months old but it is official.

Thank you

Plus from the info on the squad, hers is the only that is completely classified. Seems to point to something very special.

Very possible, could you possibly post a close up of her jawbone, stating the service tag 035?

A bit off topic, but y'all seem to be in the know about the background story... If I were to start reading books in the Halo series today, what book(s) should I pickup first?

She works for ONI.

Well yeah, now.
But many people that washed out of the Spartan program from augmentation problems ended up in service in different areas.
Also Kurt, one of the original Spartan II's gets tapped for a new classified mission to train Spartan III's
so while she is working for ONI now, she could have started as a Spartan.

Her information is classified cause she obviously has something to do with ONI. This, yet again, can point toward the Spartan 1.1 idea. (The child of someone who went through Project ORION, AKA Spartan I)

I like the Spartan 1.1 idea too, but again, why would she have the 035 on her helmet. 1.1s weren't officially trained

Sorry I don't know how to post pictures...It is in the ODST page under the pictures. It is the picture from inside the drop pod. view full size and look at Dare's helmet.

I made a slight mistake in my post. I meant there were Spartan IIs who were forced out after being crippled due to complications in the augmentation process, but also those who simply dropped out of the program. They would still be highly capable soldiers... just not Spartans. I was speculating that Dare could belong to the latter category.

Either way, I think we can all agree the possibility of Dare being some kind of former Spartan is a viable theory.

Exactly. If she was a Spartan she would be at least a head taller than the others, and probably better built.
