Maybe it's Dutch who's holding it.

It was Romeo, but it was in Firefight.

I saw that too I think it´s unreal. The turret is "heavy even for a Spartan", how a normal human is capable of carrying it?

This bothered me as well. A Spartan with an augmented body, and a suit of armor further enhancing their strength is slowed down significantly by a turret yet the ODST seems to be moving almost as easily with one...

Ya know what this game needs? A Warthog, with legs.

He also ripped the turret off the stand, its stupid. If a spartan can just about do this with it majorly affecting his speed. Then no normal human even if he is an ODST should be able to.

Here I am, Here I stay. Endless and Infinite.

Maybe it'll be only in Firefight and not in campaign.

Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

Gameplay convenience.

Everyone's a pacifist between wars. It's like being a vegetarian between meals.

Hopefully. It's acceptable to me if you can do this in firefight, but if it's possible in campaign then it doesn't help differentiate the MC and the Rookie.

I am Katsu Kage, an assassin trained in the art of stealth. I was on a recon mission when I discovered a blue box hidden among some rubble. Once I entered the blue box it had taken me to a land far away. It was strange and fantastic! There I met PatikaVoom, the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She showed me this land, then returned with me to the blue box. She called it a TARDIS and seemed to know how to work it. We left together and have been on many adventures, with many more to come!

Also, a few of us were talking during matchmaking and Halo: Reach is definitely going to be, not a first person shooter, not a third person shooter, but a second person shooter. Bungie is going to revolutionize the way you watch other people play games.

And yet you can't dual wield. I know games have to sacrifice realism for mechanics, but this is a bit ridiculous.

Exactly i would rather have one than not.

I agree it's stupid. The ODST seem to be just as strong, same siize, etc as Spartans. The only thing the ODST can't do is fall long distances and regenerate health.

It kind of removes much of the aura of Spartans...

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Meh. I get to use the turret, I'm happy. I like the turret.

I guess they wanted a portable heavy machine-gun but didn't want to craft an entirely new weapon to fill that role. Kinda weak, but I'd rather have the role filled by a quick fix than not filled at all.

ODST's and marines can also use the spartan laser. You can give them the spartan laser in campaign, but strangely they aren't strong enough to use a grav hammer?

Unfortunately we won't get to play as a cartoon ODST. At least, not this time around...

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Congratulations, you figured that Bungie was lying moths ago when they said they were making the ODSTs inable to pick up certain weapons. This had to be changed due to unknown reasons.

  • 06.03.2009 11:49 AM PDT

It's stupid tbh, in an interview frm halo3 one of the bungie guys even said

"we're really showing the strength of a spartan, you can now rip of the a turret and carry it around, we made the ripping look brutal as only a spartan would be able to do this. a turret is heavy, so your speed is slowed down" something in that lines.

Then when I watch odst carrying a turret, he even moves abit faster than a spartan doing it!!

Seriously, cant the turret just stay where it is and we can use it whenever we want? It got a very wide area to turn on.

It's just wierd after what they said in halo3 and booklet.

For playing the game, it doesn't. But if you are a fan of the story of Halo, it lessens what a Spartan is...

Did you play the mission the covenant? One ODST uses a SL then.

They have said a few times now that one of the major points of ODST was to experience Halo from the POV of a being weaker than a spartan. Giving them this ability takes away from that experience.
