Received my Recon 7/7/2009 for First Game in Bungie vs The World.

Ok, I'm probably way off, but here is what I noticed:
In the beginning of the Reach Trailer, something was said about an "inconsistent slip space rupture"
Now what I am thinking is, since The Covenant's technology is far superior, why would their rupture be inconsistent? Didn't Master Chief encounter a slip space accident at the end of Halo 3? Or am I just interpreting this wrong.
It's just an idea and it is probably incorrect. Just thought I'd post it to see some responses...

You're probably right, but the talk got me thinking, which is probably a bad thing.

I don't think it's time travel per se. As much as it is the relics warped time and the events that we think spanned say 30 years, actually happened in about 10 or something to that effect. I know that sounds odd but in the room in Reach where the relic was, when they walked toward it, it would warp time and space, the same thing happened when they were in the ship and jumped to slipspace (they thought) with it on board. Instead of it taking as long as Cortana thought, it was actually a much shorter trip to their destination due to the time-bending effects of the artifact.

What?

If MC was the source of the rupture, why would he bomb the hell out of Reach?

Also, I believe "inconsistent" was supposed to mean inconsistent with scheduled ship arrivals or ruptures that were inconsistent with the way human ships re-enter normal space.

Well, I was thinking that the Covenant couldn't move that fast, especially because the video did mention confirmation of troops on the ground. So the rupture might have gone unnoticed in order to deal with the bigger problem at hand.

But I'm probably misinterpreting it, and it's something like you said with the schedules or styles of reentry.

doubtful, slipspace ruptures aren't exactly stealthy (with the big ball of white light).

Note: A witty signature can be placed on the bottom of all your forum posts.

Read the Book Halo: First Strike, it takes place on Reach starring the Spartans on the ground, and it might be the story you get to play in this game. In fact I would reccomend that everyone read the first (Fall of Reach) and third (First Strike) books at least, it fills in the gaps, and explains a lot about John-117 as well.

It's funny to hear so many people suggest storylines who haven't read up on Halo to know that some of these story suggestion just plain aren't possible, or aren't likely.

There could be a Time Travel story here, but not for the reasons you suggest, read First Strike.

Touché.
You seem to be correct, thus proving me wrong. Good ear.
