I love the entire Halo series, Halo 2 being my favorite of the games. I think that the universe is compelling and the story is deep, sweeping, and powerful. The hidden layers in the Halo trilogy and rich details of the backstory in the novels are something I love to be lost in, and im greatly looking forward to the story that Halo: Reach will weave. Bungie has carefully and lovingly crafted a mythic tale that will stay etched in my mind until the end.

I really hope so.

Hopefully Bungie has realized what they did wrong with Halo 2 and Halo 3 and we return to the better style of Halo play with fall damage, faster killing speed, faster strafing, and a more skill-based MP experience.

oh yea sure, sniper pistols and shotgun ladder-campers make me shake in my boots from their elite skill.

Halo: CE > > Halo 3 > Halo: Reach = Halo 2

Yes because a BR that misses half it's 3 round burst bullets due to bullets not registering and spread, takes more skills. And camping around every corner with a shotty in H3 is different then up a ladder. /sarcasm

Go back to the awesome uber skills of Halo 3. And who knows, maybe with a little more practice, and a few more thousand games, you'll get that brigadier. ;)

Get on XBC, I'll let you host a game, and I wont even fire a shot. I guarantee you won't kill me with your pistol.

You say tomato; I say potato.

Plus I think I've heard them say they want Halo to be a game were there aren't many long term penalties.
In most cases I'd agree with you, but this time we know the end. Reach will fall. I sense long term penalties are going to be a theme this time around.

$.50 in store credit.

It would make sense for it all to be back at CE standards i guess.

Long term penalties, these "penalties" should'nt be seen as penalties, there just a problem that needs to be fixed by the player, they need to activley hunt for a health pack, this will add some interstign aspects to gamepley.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

So do I. Playing Halo:CE on the PC is 5x more fun than Halo 2, and 10x more fun than Halo 3.

They might be strong pistols, but you have to actually lead your shots the farther you're out. You can't rely on auto-aim like in Halo 2 and 3.

As we prepare to return to good 'ol Mark V armour, will we return to the health and shield system we had in Halo CE.
That is, a small actual shield and a few bars of ehalth taht were recharged by "health Packs"

i think we will. it would make sense

Would they ahve to make the shields stronger to combat the new halo 3 weapons such as BRs and spikers?

  • 06.04.2009 11:13 AM PDT

well this game is way before halo 3 so i would imagine not. although the brutes did have spikers in this time period i hope they do not fight on reach i would rather kill some elites.

They better put in the olds shields, they worked fine as they were. They worked well in multiplayer and story so I see why not. They should add in health as well. Back to the shields, I honestly like Halo CE's suit and shields the most, i'm not the only one either. Plust that would be dumb if Bungie didn't, it would ruin the story and game.
