I was under the impression that this was an expansion of Halo 3, one that is shorter than H3's campaign. If that is still the case then I am a little miffed at the $60 I will be handing over for this game. It's nice that Bungie is including H3 multiplayer, but honestly, most people already own H3 and all the new maps. Its inclusion with ODST should not be a justification for the price point. Just wanted to get other people's opinion on this

Supposed to be a longer campaign.. plus the new maps are thrown in... so its an extra $10 for them... I honestly still can't wait though.. im gonna get the LE cuz I need a new controller and thats $100 so...

The LE is definately worth it if you feel this game is worth $60 AND need a new controller.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

If you have never owned halo 3 than it's an unbelievable bargain.

If you currently own Halo 3 and all (or most) of the DLC it's a rip off for the most part.

Funny how that works out. But oh well.

Seems most people have not seen all of the videos on Halo 3: ODST. They said it was supoose to be an expansion and wouldnt warent a $60 price tag, but now they said it has turn into more than just that. Also they have not told us everying thing about the game and said there is more there not telling us. But just by what they have it is obvious that this game should be $60, most games you buy now have the same or less amount of content that ODST has.

If you have bought an EA title than you have played a game that should not be $60. Its stupid that anyone could even come to the conclusion that ODST is not worth $60.

I think 60 dollars is ridiculous.
40 seems more reasonable to me.
I remember a time when new games were 30 dollars.
I love Bungie to death but it seems to me that they made enough money off of Halo 3, so why jack the price up on this game so much.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

Over priced in my opinion. It should be $45.

Until Bungie confirms that the game is $60, I'm not going to believe it.

I think it's generous.

Surprised it isn't more, because of the new firefight mode and ability to obtain recon now!

  • 06.03.2009 2:04 PM PDT

I think there should be a version you can buy that doesn't come with Halo 3 MP, just ODST and the 3 maps. Because like people said, pretty much anyone who is going to get this has Halo 3 and all the maps so far.

Maybe have the $60 version with all the old maps, MP, and the new stuff and then have a like $40 version with just ODST and the 3 new maps.

I am going to lube your butt hole with nacho cheese and -blam!- you with a crowbar.

Indeed overpriced, I'm buying the LE, I need a controller.

A Kotaku article seems to confirm that ODST is $59.99, and they also point out that Bungie has stated in the past that ODST will not be as long as H3. Since we don't know how long the campaign will be, its tough to say that "ODST has become so much more" means a longer campaign, or merely the inclusion of Firefight.

In all fairness, though, Microsoft ultimately decides what a product will sell for, wo why wouldn't they milk their money cow a little bit more?

I don't mind it whether it's just a short campaign or not. I'll still buy it. And the special edition comes with the controller too =D

  • 06.03.2009 11:01 PM PDT

I think it would be cool if there was a DLC version of just the campaign and the 3 new maps for 40, but you can't win 'em all I guess.

as i said in another thread, i dont think we should have to pay for the maps if we already bought them. toss the heroic, legendary, and mythic maps on a seperate disc specifically for the collectors/limited edition.

at first i was nonchalaunt about paying 60 for a halo game, but the more i think about it, the more i get annoyed. not like complaining on these forums is going to change anything tho, even if there ARE 30 threads on it

When was that? I remember when new SNES games used to be $70

First of all, $65 for a game is absurd. $65 dollars for an expansion pack is straight up ridiculous.

  • 06.03.2009 11:09 PM PDT

I think it's complete BS when even Bungie stated it was around a $40 game.
Micro$oft just can't wait to sink their teeth into our wallets, because they know we know just how good of a game it is now. So Micro$oft does their regular money-whoring scheme and jack the price so they can afford bigger dildos to please themselves.

Besides Nintendo (which prices its games at $50 dollars tops now) most games started out pretty cheap. Greatest hits would be priced at $20 now they're $30-40.

What I want to know is why are Blu-Ray discs the same price as 360's DVD9 format? 360 games should be $50 at the most.
