In this video the guy playing (couldn't recognize his voice) mentions some of the things the SI can do. These included Medical Packs and lighting, both of which we have seen in action. But he also mentions that the SI can control garbage trucks. Do you think there will be garbage trucks in the game that the SI can control to help you? Could he use this as a weapon if he goes crazy?

EDIT: I was joking at first but the poster below this gave me an idea. In this interview some guy was asking how you travel around the city quickly and jokingly suggested Elephants. A Bungie employee said "you know, when the game comes out you will realize just how true that almost is" Maybe you DO actually ride around in garbage trucks to get you around the city quickly.

EDIT 2: In this video trash pickup is mentioned again. I also thought that the whole "teleporting" thing seemed quite suspicious because they always teleported right before a specific part. I took a still image of right before they "teleport" and added some filters. This was the result. If you look at the far right of the picture, to the left of the "Keep Right" sign is an object. This object appears to be some sort of vehicle with blocky geometry. What kind of vehicle does that sound like? A garbage truck.

EDIT 3: In the new ViDoc around 2:25 Buck says, "We could commandeer the city's garbage trucks if we needed them. Hooray for more evidence! Found by relliK42

Maybe you DO actually ride around in garbage trucks.

that's logical. I mean whats to say that mongoose pic i found that is in the OP of this thread isn't a civilian version. Im sure the UNSC equipment could be changed into civvie stuff.

PLUS the whole "teleportation" thing leads me to believe they are hiding a transport method

(admittedly to fit on the roads the Elephants would have to be scaled down a bit... Hippos maybe? =P)

"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give EL1TE SUPR3MACY lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Y'know, if the SI can control New Mombasa's garbage trucks, why doesn't he just splatter all the Covenant in the city?

Yea, it's so underpowered that I don't think it will be used often though.

Never actually thought about the use of garbage trucks, it's an interesting point. Seems entirely possible too.

I love Halo, I have played it since the beginning, even though I may not have had Xbox Live back then. Marathon is also a pretty good game.

Thank You Bungie! For the best games and Recon Armor. Also thanks for the early access to the Halo: Reach Beta!

This account was hacked and I now have a new account.

I think there is probably some sort of transportation but a garbage truck? Come on do you realy think they will let you drive a garbage truck?

That makes quite a bit of sense.

To end this stuff about "teleporting" he said that it would NEVER happen in the game an they only did it becuase the beacon was over a kilometer away an they didnt have time to spend 30min just to get there.

The SuperIntendent is considered a "dumb AI", meaning it was designed for a specific task and probably isn't creative enough to run over the Covenant with its garbage trucks, unless it was programmed to do so.

Not drive it but like interact with a terminal and it takes you where you want to go instantly. I don't mean that you drive around the city in a garbage truck.

I would greatly enjoy garbage truck driving. Remember the cool sports cars in Halo 2? Now that would be cool.

you misunderstood what they said.

they meant that in the video, they teleported so that we (the people watching) wouldn't see that you use garbage trucks for transport.

they did NOT mean there would be actual teleporting
