Will the Elites be on the enemy side again since this before Halo 1 and 2?
Also are Brutes going to be added as well as weapons and vehicles from Halo 2 and 3?

*dickslap*

It would make sense if they are.

IM A LEGIT 16

Yes, Elites are evil.
No, Brutes were not on Reach.
No Brute weapons or Vechicles, Spartan Laser won't be ingame.

Elites no Brutes ever set foot on Reach. It's a fact. The only way they would get added in is if Bungie wants to change the story of the book and that would be the dumbest thing ever. So all in all don't expect Brutes to appear.

Elites will definitely be enemies, since it's pre-Halo:CE

Spoiler-ish? :

Brutes existed way back (Contact Harvest book) so while they could put them into Reach I don't think they would? Maybe they would make them more scarce/commanding unites if anything. I could see them putting Drones into the fray though.

Brutes not on Reach really isn't a fact, they were just never mentioned... Which would lead to a solid assumption... but we all know how things can change with time.

I hope elites are enemies, if this game is prior to Halo CE they should definitely be aligned with the covenant. As for the Brutes, I'm not sure if they were ever released on Reach, but it would be interesting to see them interact with Elites on the battlefield. As for vehicles, who knows, I was always into the on-foot stuff, myself.

Well as you could see the Halo series isn't one to keep the facts straight, like in Halo Wars the Spartan Laser, SMG, Brutes and hi-jack feature were all included even though it was a prequel to Halo: CE.

The attack on Reach was a co-ordinated Elite attack, at the time Brutes where just Temple Guards, why would the glorious and honourable Sangheili allow a bunch of dirty, undeserving, apes to partake in their epic victory over the Humans?

Well as I believe I've mentioned prior to this post, in Halo Wars the Brutes fight in the battle as well as the Elites, however they might have just been back-up support.

if you read the books, the elite - brute dishonesty and deception was going on a long time before Reach. who's to say the Prophets wouldn't want a Brute umbrella over what went on?

Well Bungie's to say, haha, we shall see!

Also as far as weapons go, those weapons existed... Again that info's in the books.

As for taking over a vehicle? I don't think you would ruin a story by incorporating a combat tactic... that's like saying the Master Chief would have never known how to use a sword before Halo 2

I don't think the Chief really knew how to use the Energy Sword in Halo: CE I think that when he got the upgraded suit in Halo 2 it was programmed in on how to use it.

well, he's not exactly an idiot. i'm sure he could figure out how to use an energy sword on his own.

gameplay-wise it would be silly to go backward anyway

We can only hope... Seeing Brutes around every corner is getting really tiresome...

...Selling the A-bomb perfume. Whatever that means.

@DigitalPlayer L

Keep in mind that Halo Wars was developed by Ensemble, not Bungie. It is the aberration in this case... the exception to the rule. Bungie pays a very great amount of attention to the smallest details. Ascendant Justice is a good place to look to see what I mean. That means that Bungie is not likely to deviate from commonly accepted history. Also... just because the SMG, brutes, and the Spartan Laser weren't in CE doesn't mean they didn't exist yet (does anyone service dates for the SMG or SL?). And hijacking doesn't really apply, because it's an action... not an object.

So, to make a long story short, it's safe to say that Elites will play a major part in the covenant invasion force, and we don't really know what weapons/technology will and won't be available, although I suspect we'll see a lot of what we've grown used to, with a few special surprises along the way.

  • 06.03.2009 5:06 PM PDT

Well if brutes are gonna be on Halo 3: ODST I really don't know. Could be a possibility that they wiil be in Halo: Reach although I still have my doubts.

Wait a minute, DigitalPlayer L? As in DeadlyRevolver9? Don't I know you from somewhere?

the main enemies MUST be the Elites, with luck we'll be able to see the Halo 2 elite ranks again... the Councilors, Honor Guards etc.
It would be good to put a Elite campaign, it would be just like Halo 2, and if the Brutes are going to be in this game the shoud look like the Halo 2 ones... because Elites are back.

This game must be bigger in all possible ways, more weapons, more levels...
