It's better to burn out than fade away.

Yeah ODST and Reach are going to kickass, but i still want to know what happened after Halo 3 the ending kinda leads to another halo game but when will Halo 4 come out or are they just going to leave Halo 3 as a cliffhanger.

reach is after halo 3. it's when they send the elites back home to find it's filled with bad covies (exactly what i predicted)

Reach was blown up farrrr before any Halo.
It is set before Halo Wars. Which is before Halo.
;p

Buckle Up: It's makes it harder for the Covenant to suck you up.

No, it's not. Halo:Reach takes place before the first Halo. And sadly, it's most likely that Bungie is going to leave Halo 3 as a cliffhanger.

Reach is confirmed by xbox.com (MS-ran website) as a prequel.

Not true. Frankie confirmed at Emerald City that they are not done with the Chief and Cortana's stories.

Hilarious. I'm going to assume this is a joke, but if it's not...
Halo:Reach, due to it's title and the teaser, is most likely going to take place during the Fall of Reach, BEFORE Halo: Combat Evolved. Meaning it isn't a prequel, (as it's not directly leading up to Halo:CE) but it is based earlier in the timeline. Sanghielli will, i hope, return as a main enemy.

It's actually right before the first Halo. Listen to the opening cutscenes in CE. Or read the books. Or HaloPedia. Whichever tickles your fancy.

We missed A LOT of huge battle with the Spartans. This is a good thing to go back and take part in one of the biggest battles for a planet. As for ODST it's only a 3 week prequel. They should have called it Halo 2: ODST.lol I'm personally glad to be back in New Mombasa.

It's better to burn out than fade away.

I hope they dont leave it as a cliffhanger, or maybe it'll be released on the Next-Gen console.

Assguards are only important to people who run away from danger. Personally, I like to throw myself into danger facefirst, in a beautiful swan dive.

Halo 3 as a cliffhanger.
I don't think the Halo 3 ending was a cliffhanger, at first yes. But since Johns duty was serve and he didn't really have any other purpose I think it was a fitting end to his service. But I guess it can be seen as both.

Really? I didn't know that...Hmmm, but doesn't that mean Microsoft would make that instead? Because Frankie isn't with Bungie anymore...

Actually, Halo Wars is set before Halo: Reach beacuse the first halo begins right after the Fall of Reach.
Reach fell in 2552
Halo Wars takes place about 30 years prior to that.

I saw it like you did too. Master Chief is a war machine, fighting is the only thing he does. When the war's finally over, the Chief's job is done.

Whaoh slow down there buddy. If it has to do with Reach it will be set within a month of Halo CE. Get your facts straight.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that these stories have to take place after Halo 3. Halo: Reach deals with the stories of Master Chief and Cortana before the trilogy.

That may be another Spartan. Experts are looking at it.

Not necessarily. It isn't beyond reason for MS to involve members of Microsoft Game Studios in the concept and development process alongside Bungie. It's Micrsoft's IP now, so it would make sense that they'd ensure their own interests with the franchise now as well.

No it doesn't. We have no clue what Halo: Reach will be about. If it's about the original Battle of Reach, chances are we won't see the Chief at all since he very much absent from it in zero-G. If it deals with the Forerunner artifact he was sent in to investigate, then we might, but that's yet to be seen.

Also, it is implied that Frankie was talking about furtherance as it was in response to whether or not the two were actually dead. That, in conjunction with the fact that all of the trilogy's Legendary Endings have always had meaning and led to a subsequent game is more than enough to be plausible.

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

The purpose of ending the trilogy was to leave room for fans to speculate about. I do not believe there was any intent to go beyond the Legendary ending of Halo 3 unless a novel is created later on. Not much could really happen after that, after all. It would be all repetition.

"Chief! Chief! Wake up, man. You're lucky we found you. You've been frozen for 300 years."
"Where are we?"
"We're above the rebel base on Dantooine..."
"WTF?"
"Oh yeah, and the Flood has returned."
"... Just wake me up in another 300 years and die before then."

The best place to go is where we've been and before. There's nothing wrong with prequels.
