I don't think so. I think its four grenades *Total* across all types. So you could carry four frags, or three frags and a plasma, or one of each type... and so on and so on. At no point in any vehicles are they carrying more than four grenades total.

Oh, that'd just be stupid.

Yeah, but it makes sense seeing as all the limitations on the ODST's. And honestly, were would you carry 16 grenades?

  • 06.03.2009 6:32 PM PDT

You can carry at least 6 at a time because i remember seeing in one screenshot he had 3 frags and 3 firebombs.

  • 06.03.2009 6:34 PM PDT

If you show me the screenie, I'll happily believe you- until then I'll stick with what I saw, which was no more than four at a time (I saw 3 frags and one firebomb, at one point)

I remember reading somewhere that you only get 3 grenades, it was supposed to be a replacement for not having equipment

We should know better, because we are better.

Maybe you can only hold 3 grenades per type. I havent seen a single picture of a ODST holding 4 grenades.

  • 06.03.2009 6:36 PM PDT

Pretty much the only reason you could only have 2 of each in Halo 3 was to prevent grenade spamming in multiplayer....I see no reason for them to keep it at 2 in ODST.

  • 06.03.2009 6:38 PM PDT

3 each...well that'd be helpful considering the loss of the radar (and Spartan abilities)

  • 06.03.2009 6:38 PM PDT

I just realized how awesome wrecking the enemy team with a Focus Rifle from atop the Spire is. It's magical. It's like Concussion Rifle vs Sword/Shotgun.

YAY!!!!!! For what we know we are GONNA NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!! for firefight and campaign those cheiftains are gonna eat us!

I pointed this out in the Easter Egg thread, but I haven't heard anything more about it. Whether or not we can hold a full 16 grenades in ODST is still a mystery, but seeing as that screenshot shows 3 Frag grenades, something has changed.

  • 06.03.2009 6:41 PM PDT

Thats definitely 3 and 3- I missed that one. I still think they'll implement a total grenade limit, as that makes sense, especially for a normal infantry soldier.

Wrong. You can carry 16.

At 4:25 you see him carrying 5 grenades. 1 frag, 3 stickies and 1 spike nade.

"Bungie controls everything. You have no rights. Play nice."

For the last time its TURRETS not TORRENTS. A TORRENT is either a peer to peer file sharing protocol or a violently fast stream of water. A TURRET is a self-contained weapons platform housing guns and capable of rotation. And TURRENT isn't even a word.

Unless the limit is 3 grenades per type, at which case you can carry 12 grenades. We've never seen an ODST carry 4 grenades of one type yet. The per grenade limit so far observed is 3.

wouldn't the plasma grenades give the odst's cancer?

Boren's syndrome actually, and only if they used oh say, an entire crate of them in a short period of time. That's how Sergent Johnson supposedly contracted it.

Boren's Syndrome requires extended exposure to covenant plasma to contract the disease, but its totally treatable.
