The thing is that I really think ODST will be a great game. I plan on buying it but at the same time I don't because I believe Bungie is getting too friendly with random items such as adding new maps ever few months. Yes, this sounds great and all but then what about the other maps that have been left behind. Don't think I'm saying this because I don't have all of them because I do but I think Halo is becoming a game less serious. I love MLG and stuff that is competitive which is serious for a rated M game but adding too many ideas reduces Halo's competitive edge e.g. race tracks or forge in all.

Look back at how many people played 2 months ago: an average of 350,000 players compared to 210,000 players that play now. I think the reason because this is happening is because everyone is switching to new games like Call of Duty and Gears which are more competitive or serious and doesn't have players quit in the middle of a game which is a problem on Halo 3.

More people forge than play matchmaking or campaign together. Bungie might as well create its own forge trilogy. I don't know where that'll go but it will leave the serious players back in Halo 3 and then in Halo ODST.

Don't get me wrong. I was stunned by Halo 3's gameplay for months as many of you have but now its getting too friendly and there are no tournaments or online matchmaking events that make sense for you to play.

As always, this is my opinion.

Got to make a living some how. Most games have DLC too so I don't see what the big deal about that is.

Scaring people with my idiocy daily.

The reason people are leaving halo 3 is because it is several years old, and there are newer games. Not because of anything bungie is doing imo. As for too friendly, I don't see what you mean by that, a game is meant to be played for enjoyment, and for some, a type of sport. If you like the sports variety, join MLG. If you don't, enjoy the game as you wish.

Yet somehow, social slayer became Team Slayer in terms of player skills.

Halo in my opinion is the best game with The Elder Scrolls following behind it. The story is just amazing as well as the music. Halo's universe is so vast and has so many huge battle that can be turned into games. They are finally making a game based on Reach!

  • 06.03.2009 6:46 PM PDT

I thought games were meant to be fun. Not serious time, that makes it a job not a game anymore.

  • 06.03.2009 6:47 PM PDT

They act all big and tough when their on camera with their friends and their guns. But when you break into their house in the middle of the night and stick a gun barrel in their face. They cry like babies and and piss their pants.

How dare they make more Halo games!

I think people are just getting tired of Halo, in general. My friends and I played it all the time, now they're just into partying, guitar hero, and bioshock. I'm the only one that plays it now. They don't even know about ODST, sad.

Yeah kids these days are into this "realism" thing and "Gore", whatever that means.

I miss the old days.

They have to revive Halo somehow. People still play Halo 2 even after years that Halo 3 has been out. The old days were great. They were competitive and everyone would communicate.

The reason why I'm saying this is that I'm a gamer like all of you and even if some people dont agree with me, there are some who probably do.

Thank you sir, that was an epic rendition of this topic.

and how!

People switch to new games because they are new, not because they are more competitive. Most games don't have the magical replay value that Halo has either, so they come back undoubtedly.

Also, maps that are "left behind"...what? And even so, if maps are left behind how would they have a chance to "come back" at all if no new maps are added?

Heaven forbid a game be playful...

I say keep them coming! I love Halo, and I'd love to see it live on, hopefully we can eventually get it to look like the Halo 3 Announcement Trailer that played during the Superbowl... Some day...

Yeah people usually go to play a new game and end up coming back to Halo. As long as Bungie's Halo games get a crap load of sales then they will keep making them. I don't have a problem with that at all.

oh i forgot to mention. resistance 2 is the biggest open scope game i have played in a long time. you got fights going on other places at one time, and the places you went to took awhile to fully get past. halo 3 has the shortest missions, and a lot of 'em aren't all that great. campain sucked big time, and only forge and multi kept my interest. other than that. the other two are the best of the triliogy!

  • 06.03.2009 6:57 PM PDT

its there last hurah its fun Halo never gets old there is always something new coming out.

Read the subject please. I only brought up the players who play other games to compare. I didn't change the question and by the way, Its more forge than anything else on halo. Does that really count? I play for campaign and matchmaking.

Four shots, four kills, reload, repeat. This is the work of a sniper.

No. But this is just my opinion. From what I've seen so far, I am absolutely in love with ODST. I was born on Halo though, so these have always been the very best games out of all in my eyes. I love what they are doing with the series, and am happy that there will be more games after ODST. I hope they continue to make halo games, as long as they are good quality, and so far, ODST is.

Buckle Up: It's makes it harder for the Covenant to suck you up.

And yet, after about 1 1/2 years of being out, it's usually in the Top 3 Xbox LIVE Most Played Games.

Thats the very reason why they are doing it because all these new games are coming out and they have to stay in business some how and coming out with new maps and stuff will keep them in business

I don't think this game will sell 3/4s as much as Halo 3 sold.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

There are more people who don't play the game seriously than there are who do play the game seriously. You want to know why it's losing players? Because there are other games that keep coming out. Halo 3 will be 3 years old in September, FYI.

The original intent of video games was to have FUN. Not to always be "OMG I HAVE TO WIN!." If you can't play a game and have fun at the same time, break your Xbox 360.

I wonder if MLG will have a MLG game made? That would be as dumb as the idea of calling a video game a sport in the first place.
