The thing is that I really think ODST will be a great game. I plan on buying it but at the same time I don't because I believe Bungie is getting too friendly with random items such as adding new maps ever few months. Yes, this sounds great and all but then what about the other maps that have been left behind. Don't think I'm saying this because I don't have all of them because I do but I think Halo is becoming a game less serious. I love MLG and stuff that is competitive which is serious for a rated M game but adding too many ideas reduces Halo's competitive edge e.g. race tracks or forge in all.
Look back at how many people played 2 months ago: an average of 350,000 players compared to 210,000 players that play now. I think the reason because this is happening is because everyone is switching to new games like Call of Duty and Gears which are more competitive or serious and doesn't have players quit in the middle of a game which is a problem on Halo 3.
More people forge than play matchmaking or campaign together. Bungie might as well create its own forge trilogy. I don't know where that'll go but it will leave the serious players back in Halo 3 and then in Halo ODST.
Don't get me wrong. I was stunned by Halo 3's gameplay for months as many of you have but now its getting too friendly and there are no tournaments or online matchmaking events that make sense for you to play.
As always, this is my opinion.
