Do you guys think that It'll be kind of like an "Adventure" genre with FPS Elements where you are given a task and go around the city trying to complete the task OR will it be linear with levels and all that like all the other Halo games. They did say it wasn't AS linear if i can recall right.

It's freeroaming then you go into flashbacks of your squadmates and play as them in linear style gameplay. I doubt that it will have anything that could resemble a "quest" though.

Free Roaming as in kind of like GTA?

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

Free roaming as in right up there with Far Cry 2, Oblivion, and GTA. You got a map, and specific tasks you have to do. It's your choice on how you get there.

"Bungie controls everything. You have no rights. Play nice."

For the last time its TURRETS not TORRENTS. A TORRENT is either a peer to peer file sharing protocol or a violently fast stream of water. A TURRET is a self-contained weapons platform housing guns and capable of rotation. And TURRENT isn't even a word.

I'm going to paraphrase the podcast.

Imagine if you will a wagon wheel with spokes. The wheel is the city, and the spokes are the flashbacks. You can roam all over the wheel, and pick whichever spoke you want to go to and in which order. But once you're on a spoke (flashback mission) the gameplay is pretty linear until the flashback ends. That's how it works. You free roam around the city, then pick the linear missions in whatever order you want, eventually leading you to the end of the game.

*Ahem* You mean eventually leading to the end of the level. The streets of New Mombasa is just one campaign mission.

No, I mean game.

Free roam - linear level- more free roam - linear level - a bunch more free roam - a bunch more linear levels - end game

The streets of new mombassa is one big area that you travel around to access the missions. When you find a clue relating to the squad, you flash back to what happened, and play through the linear leveled flashback as an ODST who is not the Rookie. Then you flash forward and continue your open world search for more clues.

You free roam looking for clues, and each clue is a linear level. As you piece together the clues it leads you to the end of the game.
