Subject: Bam. Got the Beta Release Date.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

go reread what they say about invites

- Under ODST, it shows you get an invite for the beta of Reach. It doesnt say anywhere on there that you will have to hold onto that inv and keep it safe until 2010 now, does it?
-

From odst's page "If you want in(reach beta), hold onto your copy of Halo 3: ODST and stay tuned to Bungie.net and Xbox.com for more details."
-blam!- n00b

Completly being off of what I was asking and calling me a noob just makes you look like an idiot. I said it said nothing on there about 2010. All you did was show it says stay tune for more details.

So yeah...great job there. /claps

For those of you that think that the beta comes out this year, with the release of ODST, you need to watch the Halo: Reach trailer. It states at the end of the trailer:

"Multiplayer beta coming in 2010"

Thats from bungie.

He was going to say marketplace.

If he was he would've said "on THE mar-(ketplace)"
what he actually said was "on mar-(ch)" as if he was going to say the date.

No, I don't want to join your group/clan/team/community.

the multiplayer beta comes with Halo ODST if you by the game you get the beta

Turn the volume up and listen to it closely. He says mark. Since when does a K make a Ch sound?

The inv to the beta comes with ODST. I do not belive that bungie nor microsoft would force you to hold onto that inv until March.
Welll someone is a little dumb. Bungie has said that the invitation will be in the "Extras of the disc". You won't have to "Hold on to the invite for that long". You will be alerted when the beta is being released. It won't be as early as September 22nd, 2009.

My guess is that the Beta for Halo: Reach will be released and opened in the Extras menu of ODST probably between a week to a month after ODST is released on September 22, 2009. I highly doubt they would announce Halo: Reach now and have everyone wait about a year or longer to play the beta. That's stupid.

  • 06.03.2009 8:18 PM PDT

Dude, game developers don't hold back release dates just for giggles; they do it because setting a specific date is dangerous if it's done too far beyond the date itself.

Look what happened with Halo 2: Bungie promised a release before they were certain they could make the deadline, and as a result people scrambled to put out a finished product, which left their game less than what it could have been.

Bungie isn't telling people when the beta will come out because they don't know yet. They have to give themselves enough elbow room to make sure that the product will be as good as it can be. Yeah, developers also wait on release dates to maximize hype, but this far in advance, they don't know when the multiplayer beta will be ready. It likely needs a ton of work and has components completely missing as of yet. A whole lot can change in a year.

Klimekboy says as he looks at his avatar and wonders why everyone else has the same avatar as him.

I'm sick of un-originality. Don't be hypocritical.

Wow, that is completely un-related to this discussion. I know you were talking to that other kid but there are only so many avatars to choose from and for me, only about 10 of them are good that I like and I chose Dutch avatar because his description fits my gaming playstyle of Heavy Weapons and Driving. Also, all of the other avatars are getting old and I am tired of looking at them,

Another thread on this? Really? Urk denied this rumor.

  • 06.03.2009 8:31 PM PDT

Actually, on the Bungie site, it said specifically that you should HOLD ON to your disc because you would receive an invitation LATER.

Exactly what I was about to say/will say again :)

So to everybody (especially you, IIGhoulishtieII) that is still convinced that the Reach Beta will come out when or right around when ODST ships, despite Bungie's E3 comments, WATCH THE HALO:REACH TRAILER!!!!

It clearly states MULTIPLAYER BETA COMING IN 2010.

Why would an add-on that needs to be downloaded in-game when available be released to the public over Marketplace? Plus, After that, they asked for a date, and Brian quickly jumped and said "We can't pin that down right now" faster than anything else in the dialogue. He must have known he almost let it out. March would work if they want to aim for an early Fall release date, or maybe even a late summer (ala BioShock 1) But this isn't a confirmation or anything.

Because that's why he corrected himself. It wasn't going to be available on the market place. It was going to be available on xbox live.

  • 06.03.2009 8:36 PM PDT

He must (along with the rest of bungie) be finding this so funny that our community is so excited and speculative that we are analyzing a simple stutter and turning it into a release date for the new halo game beta test.

The Beta is being released with Halo 3:ODST, so try a little sooner than 2010.

Bungie said that you can secure a spot for teh Beta when you purchase ODST. Doen't mean beta will be out at same time.

He was going to say marketplace, I believe.

No, betas aren't on marketplaces, they are kept to a small audience of people (in our case, ODST).

In the trailer it says, "Xbox Live Beta coming in 2010, Invitation included with Halo 3: ODST."

A simple life.

OK OK!

Jeez guys...

I'm still guessing March or February 2010.

The beta opens when ODST is released on its release night.

Where did you read/hear this? You made that up yourself. That statement makes no sense and is completely wrong. Why would they open the beta the night when they release the ODST game? If they did that, nobody would play ODST other than the people that don't care for Reach at all.

- Halo 3's beta came on Crackdown, and we never had to wait. Immediantly when crackdown was released with the invites, the Beta servers were (if I remember rightly) opened up. Probably the same with ODST.

Somebody needs to get their facts straight. We did have to wait for the Beta after Crackdown was released. Maybe you don't remember, but I do, it was about 1-3 months after it was released when the Beta finally became available.

Now, being as Halo: Reach is probably nowhere near completion, I think a 2010 release date for this Beta seems right on the money, but that is just a prediction. I highly doubt however, that it will come out the same day as ODST.

I also heard that he said you could do fire fight over XBL or System Link but I am beginning to wonder why he didn't say split-screen. Hopefully the price of ODST will drop by March so I don't have to pay more than $40.

Chances are, you are incorrect. Remember Crackdown and the Halo 3 beta? It took a couple weeks for the beta to release. So I HIGHLY doubt that the beta will be released on September 22nd. If it is, right on, but chances are it will not be released that night.

Some More Facts of Delayed Release

IGN.comBungie and Microsoft have announced that the Halo 3 multiplayer beta will be gunning for Xbox Live on May 16, with three all-new maps and fresh vehicles to try out.

Crackdown was released on February 20th 3 months BEFORE the beta release

So all in all, a March 2010 release sounds right for Halo: Reach.
