lols everyone knows bulletproof glass cannot withstand teacups thrown by russian women.

If you listen closely, you can hear him say the "K" in Mar"k"etplace before he quickly changes to Xbox Live. Because the Beta isn't gonna be on Marketplace, it's gonna be on the ODST disc.

The Beta is being released with Halo 3:ODST, so try a little sooner than 2010.

actually its doesnt start when odst comes out, it comes with the way to play it *Little extras button on main menu) then when the beta goes live you get to the beta through that.

Halo 3: ODST will be the hottest selling game this year beating FORZA 3 and COD: MW2 for the simple fact that it WILL have Halo: Reach BETA as soon as you get the game people! Isn't this obvious?

HALO 4 launch date of ODST!!! Holy F@#!% S$%*

bungie confirmed halo: reach beta in 2010
u dumbasses

for everyone who thinks itll be released when u get the game (22 september)
why would they release the beta 1 year before the actual game comes out
if they did release it on that day it would be the biggest mistake ever
everyones gonna play the beta and possibly leaving odst aside
its common sense
gtfo

MULTIPLAYER HALO REACH BETA IN 2010
if the next person says its on september 22 or in 2009, *sigh*

When they know the dates, they tell us. If Brian had know the date all the way back then, we would have been told it already. He meant to say marketplace, but caught himself because of course, the beta won't be released on the marketplace. However, March does sound about right.

He was going to say marketplace. Notice he said "Mark" as in market, not "marc" as in March.

The inv to the beta comes with ODST. I do not belive that bungie nor microsoft would force you to hold onto that inv until March.

The beta opens when ODST is released on its release night.

the beta doesnt come out on the release night it comes out when ever they are ready for it

Here is the video

At exactly 4:33 he says "...when the Halo: Reach beta becomes available on mar(ch) 'ehem' Xbox Live..."

It's gonna be March 2010. I am so going to be right...

if he was going to say march then he would have in not on so yea i disagree with marketplace

He clearly said "...on mark..." not "...in march...". Marketplace would have been incorrect as the Halo Reach Beta cannot be purchased or downloaded as it is on the ODST disc. If it is in March I wouldn't be surprised, as Spring would be a good time to start, but it'd be a coincidence.
And if the Beta to Reach came out Sept. 22nd no one would play ODST, and it would be stupid considering Reach comes out a full year after.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

@people who think Beta releases when ODST comes out.

Why would they do that? Instead of playing ODST everyone will be playing Reach.

You do realize they hardly even have the game started. The E3 interview with ODST they said that they don't even know when the Beta will officially be out. Due to them just starting the game and then making the trailer.

Just like ODST, this has been in development by a core group a few months after Halo 3. This is their-3-year development game. New engine and everything. That's why it's launching 2010. ODST parallels to crackdown in the sense that we get a game, get a beta for a new game later, then we get the game.

Except people will actually play this one!

The beta opens when ODST is released on its release night.

Where did you read/hear this? You made that up yourself. That statement makes no sense and is completely wrong. Why would they open the beta the night when they release the ODST game? If they did that, nobody would play ODST other than the people that don't care for Reach at all.

Look at the evidence around you!

- Under ODST, it shows you get an invite for the beta of Reach. It doesnt say anywhere on there that you will have to hold onto that inv and keep it safe until 2010 now, does it?

- On the video shown from G4TV, he clearly says 'Mark" as in market, not "Marc" as in March.

- Halo 3's beta came on Crackdown, and we never had to wait. Immediantly when crackdown was released with the invites, the Beta servers were (if I remember rightly) opened up. Probably the same with ODST.

what are you talking about??

1. they stated that we shouldnt loose are odst disc so we can get into the beta. How would you loose it on the first day you get it. They will not release on the day we get the game, it would compete with odst.

2. The beta in crackdown.. aare you kidding me. We had two wait like 2 months for it if i remember correctly.. then on the release of the beta.. no one could download it so they extended the beta for two extra weeks i think? not sure how much extra cause i missed alot of it

in conclusion:
The beta does not open on odst's release night(thats absurd)
and crackdowns beta was not released right away

Sorry, not quite. ODST is coming with an invitation to the beta. When the beta comes out you will be invited.

Nope, you're wrong. It's going to be more like Crackdown and the Halo 3 beta. You get the game and in the main menu there will be a button for the Reach beta. When the beta becomes available you click the button and download it.

  • 07.27.2009 8:59 AM PDT

He was going to say marketplace. Bungie promptly addressed this in the weekly update from E3.

He said Mark refering to Market Place but corrected himself and said Xbox Live...

  • 07.27.2009 9:30 AM PDT

Wow, this somebody had to revive this thread? Anybody that thinks the Beta will be playable on Sept 22nd will be sorely disappointed. Just like others have pointed out, the Halo 3 beta was not opened up to play until 3 months after Crackdown was released.
For those that want to argue over the "mar..." statement, relax, just look forward to ODST and the new multiplayer maps. Before you know it, we will be given a definite date for the Beta. Time flies when you're having fun.

The beta key will be the game ODST itself so as long as u can hold onto ur game it will be fine, and no the beta isnt coming out with ODST otherwise no one would play ODST now would they? It will be in the spring again just like the Crackdown Halo 3 beta, expect Halo Reach to launch Fall 2010

I am the hand of fate!

I've seen this before, and as everyone else said, he meant to say marketplace... or so he says. It will probably be out somewhere around March however.

  • 07.27.2009 12:20 PM PDT

A) HE SAID MARKETPLACE. THEY CONFIRMED THIS IN A WEEKLY UPDATE LATER ON WHEN THEY WERE MAKING FUN OF STUPID CHILDREN WHO MISUNDERSTOOD THEM IN THE PODCAST. HE SAID MARKETPLACE. NOT MARCH. NOT MARCH. NOT MARCH. NOT MARCH. NOT MARCH. GOT IT?!?!?!?!?

B) THE BETA IS NOT STARTING THE NIGHT OF ODST's RELEASE. HOW STUPID DO YOU THINK THEY ARE? YOU REALLY THINK THEY WOULD RELEASE THE BETA FOR THEIR NEXT GAME WITH THE ONE THAT WAS JUST RELEASED?! NO ONE WOULD PLAY ODST, AS THEY WOULD BE PLAYING THE BETA FOR A GAME NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YET. THE EXTRAS MENU WILL LIGHT UP WHEN THE BETA IS ACTIVATED SOMETIME IN 2010. NOT IN MARCH. NOT AT ANY TIME YOU "THINK" IT WILL HAPPEN.

Summary -

He meant to say marketplace and that is what he said. They made fun of people like you for jumping on his every syllable and assuming you knew what he meant. You are wrong. He did not say march.

The beta will NOT be activated the same day as ODST's release. It will be activated in 2010 sometime. The "extras" option in the main menu of ODST will light up when it has been activated and you can access the beta then AND ONLY THEN.

GOT IT?!

JESUS CHRIST
