The three main spartans, or "Red Team" in H.W were:
Alice-130
Douglas-042
and of course Jerome-092

maybe they will be making an appearance as well, unless the Spirit of Fire is still MIA

Yeah they were Red team back then just because the three of them abandoned the other spartans. They were'nt the official Red team though. During Reach Fred was the leader of Red Team, they aren't the main three, they just were apart of it and then left to help Cutter. Go by the books not Halo Wars.

edit: Also those spartans reappear later in the book with the rest of the spartans.

Nothing is better than gaming through the day, into the night, then back into the day. It's like when you finally push that power button you feel like you've accomplished nothing, but at the same time, you can't stop smiling.

The kids that aren't in the dropship are the main characters of the book Cole Protocol.

Sadly, editing in the first three Halo books was very.....unsatisfactory. It was just a typo. We have better things to worry about anyway, like that Bruce guy and why Sierra-259's number is so high...

Oops. I think I just lost your mind.

They *MIGHT* be the top-secret team in SPARTAN Black.
Me hopes?

Man, i gotta reread fall of reach. in fact im going to start right now.

Yeah it's a great book, if that was announced as an error then I never knew about that. Just found it a very interesting little bit of information I thought I would share. I had not seen another thread about anything like this.

haha right when they announced the game, i started rereading it. Close to finishing o.O

Im gonna be a nerd for a second. My thinking is that the silhouettes are Will, Kelly, John, Fred, and Linda. Thats from left to right of course. The middle one simply has the presence of chief. The sniper is obviously Linga because she is the lone wolf of the spartans. Kelly would be smaller than some of the larger males. Fred is second in chain of command so i see him as being the one next to Linda. I say Will is on the far left because of his heavy weapons expertise. I would say the far left is Sam but he dies before the spartans get their armor. Any Questions.

I don't think so. There are several different anomalies regarding the SPARTANS in the novels. It would probably be wise to just wait until the game comes out. With the changing numbers it would be almost impossible to figure out an accurate account of the SPARTANS.

I seem to recall an interview with the author of Fall of Reach, he explained it as a simple error that was overlooked.

Although, I can't find the source. Meh.

Here you go. The whole article is a great read for people who want to catch up on the Spartans.

And, as Eric Trautmann once responded:

"Re: Spartan strength: I am aware that there is an APPARENT discrepancy between the reported number of Spartans and the ACTUAL number of Spartans.

Emphasis on APPARENT. ;)

We leave lots of hooks for future development buried in the text, to accomodate several ideas/stories we have percolating. Some may see the light of day, some may not.

In general, its best to chalk such discrepancies up to "the fog of war" and if we get the chance, we've got a great explanation for the apparent discontinuity."

Well thanks for that link and here we go. This might be proof that those discrepancies in number of spartans will show up in H:R. Nice Find.

You do realize that was before, they even had MJOLNIR and before the experiments, it is likely some died in the training process.

Yes I do realize that. As I stated that earlier it was pre-augmentation. But as Eric Trautmann said they have a reason or in his case the "fog of war" why numbers change. So we will see, I didn't post this to start a theory, just posted it as a find that was a coincidence since H:R was coming out.

You could also skim over, the Augmentation Process and see how many went under Augmentation, if all 75 did then you could say the the other six were either punished and not allowed to go on a mission or had a different mission, but were still on reach.

Possibly. We will see. I'm not saying anything I found has anything to do with the game. it was just a find and I was hoping that it would get people to re-read the novel and spur some thinking. Lots of weird theories on here.

Although this is a theory, due to the fact your title say The banner may be these guys. You could change it to Some Spartans went missing in training, or something else that states a fact not a presumption.

It is a fact on those two pages. Go read it and disprove me, for those two pages of text there is a discrepancy I found and posted it. And also how you're telling privet caboose about how you're swatting down stupid theories. First this is not a theory and second, it's not stupid. It's a discrepancy backed up by the text of the Halo novel itself. So you're not swatting down anything here.

In your title was "THE SILHOUETTES IN THE PICTURE ARE MISSING SPARTANS FROM PAGES 77-78". That was a theory, since you were Presuming that, you had no real evidence that they were in the picture. Now its not a theory but Fact, I never said it was stupid or a theory I just suggested that your title promotes it as a theory. I read it and Agreed with you. That there are Spartans missing from that mission.
